8MP Dahua TiOC PRO over existing RG59 coax using Ethernet-over-Coax converters – any long-term reliability or functionality risks?

Hi,

I’m upgrading an existing Dahua HDCVI system to a pure IP setup while keeping the current coax cabling.

My current system has been running reliably for about six years:
  • Dahua XVR7108HE-4KL-X (to be replaced with a new NVR)
  • 7 × Dahua HAC-HDW2501T-Z-A-27135, 5MP motorized HDCVI cameras
  • Separate RG59 coax runs in star topology, longest run is approx. 30–40 meters
  • PCT compression BNC connectors
  • Separate 12V power wires to each camera (will be abandoned in place)
  • PFA130-E junction boxes
  • No splitters, no daisy chains, no video loss, or stability problems
Planned new equipment:
  • Camera: Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-0280B-PRO
  • NVR: Dahua NVR5208-EI (or similar to handle the AI features and throughput)
  • Converter: ATTE xCOAX4-SET (Alternative considered: Dahua LR1002-1ET/1EC, but prefer ATTE as it is smaller)
  • Switch: TP-Link Omada managed 802.3at PoE+ switch (plenty of power budget for 7 × approx. 10W peak plus converter losses)
Planned topology:TP-Link Omada PoE+ switch -> EoC converter -> existing RG59 -> camera-side EoC converter -> short flat Cat6 patch cable -> camera

Note: During testing and final deployment, the camera will be powered exclusively via PoE over the coax. The legacy 12V wiring will remain disconnected so it cannot mask any voltage-drop problems.

I want to utilize the cameras fully:
  • 8MP at 25 fps
  • H.265 at approx. 10–16 Mbps
  • IVS, SMD 4.0, and AcuPick
  • Two-way audio
  • Warm light and red/blue warning lights
  • Siren and active deterrence
  • Recording and DMSS notifications
Has anyone used this exact camera, or a similar 8MP Dahua TiOC, over Ethernet-over-Coax?

My main concerns are:
  1. Voltage drops or camera restarts when the siren and lights suddenly activate.
  2. Link fallback from 100 Mbps to 10 Mbps.
  3. Packet loss, freezes, or unstable recording at 8MP/25 fps.
  4. Loss or limitation of AI, audio, or TiOC functionality.
  5. Long-term reliability of ATTE / Dahua converters.
The camera-side converter, BNC connector, patch cable, and the thick camera pigtail must fit inside the existing PFA130-E box. If necessary, I will replace the PFA130-E with a larger PFA122-V2, but I would highly prefer to keep the existing boxes.

I plan to run a strict "dry run" with one camera first before buying the remaining six:
  1. Directly from the PoE switch as a baseline.
  2. Then through the ATTE converter on the longest coax run.
  3. At maximum resolution and bitrate.
  4. With repeated siren, light activations, and PoE restarts.
Does this architecture look technically sound for reliable long-term use? Are there any hidden traps or real-world failure modes I should know about?
 
I have ran the coax to POE converters for years without issue and have even added a switch to the end and is just as reliable as an ethernet run.
 
I had no problems with them.

I never tried 2 way audio though
