5 years have flew by since it was installed. It had all the usual problems of the early SD5 types of this body had i.e. auto tracking 2 problems, insufficient power reboots when tracking and others. Cleaned the camera today and found the 2/3 top part of coating on the plastic lens is gone (makes sense since its tilted down 40degrees) after 5 years of NY sun. Seems the black anodizing inside has faded to brown too. Probably could get a few more years before it degrades enough to affect the image.
