    I upgraded to UBUNTU 18.04 a couple of days ago, and my ALPRD system has not functioned since the upgrade. Has anyone else experienced this, and willing to share the fix before I dig in?

    You need more IR, and less gain / shorter exposure. Night captures will show little more than the plate and headlights / taillights.

    Actually, I recommend using the SMALLEST Iris setting you can get away with. This will give you the deepest possible depth of field, and make more plates be in optimal focus.

    These are my night settings. You won’t be able to see anything but plates, headlights / taillights at night when set up correctly.

    Well, I finally have LPR working! Over the next few days, I’ll document the steps I took and what I ended up with (and what’s next) here. For now, I settled on the Dahua z12 camera. I had to use max zoom and aim ~75 feet down the road to get usable captures.

    It's VF 7-35. The Z12 is VF 5-60. With the extra zoom, I should be able to shoot further down the street with less angle.
