    Legit HikVision sellers (Canada)

Yes, sorry. I didn't articulate myself well. I want to find a list of vendors that don't sell hacked china region cameras :)

    Legit HikVision sellers (Canada)

I live on the east coast of Canada. I'm looking at purchasing some cameras, but I'd like to get the North American versions (not the patched ones like I had before, which I've had trouble updating) and for a reasonable price and keep whatever warranty they have on the camera. Can someone point...

    What's a good upgrade for a DS-2CD2732F-IS?

I'll check. That's some good information. I bought the cameras in 2015. I had 3 and I accidentally "bricked" one when I didn't realize they were flashed. It's been collecting dust. If I were to upgrade the cameras, what's a good recommendation? I looked online and there seems to be such a...

    What's a good upgrade for a DS-2CD2732F-IS?

I have two DS-2CD2732F-IS cameras. I'm considering upgrading because the cameras I had purchased before were Chinese firmware flashed to English and I can't patch them and the version of the firmware imposes limits on my NAS size. I'd like the same functionality or perhaps motorized function...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

Both of my cams stopped emailing for about a week, and last night they just started working again with gmail. Odd.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

My second part just arrived today that should allow me to do a serial connection. Unfortunately I just moved so I need to unpack before I proceed, but I just wanted to let everyone know that has been PMing me and such that I haven't given up yet.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I might just do that then. I've been contacted (PMed) with others in the same situation and it'd be nice to help them out. I already bought a replacement camera so the problematic camera can be for experimentation.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I could believe that. Then based on my wiresharking, I don't see where the camera is looking for TFTP, like when it was in the boot loop.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I don't run Outlook, so no. I hadn't till tonight. I thought of a reset, but never looked for it till you mentioned it. (My manual is written in Chinese.) From what I gather, I hold down the reset button for 10 seconds as the power is plugged in? I tried that tonight and nothing seems to...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I haven't tried with a different PC or serial connect. (never noticed a serial port?...) I only have the one Windows PC to work with. I'm not convinced it's the PC's problem at this point.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

This was my post with the sticker: http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/4027-Help-reverting-or-fixing-a-5-3-0-firmware-update?p=35327&viewfull=1#post35327 This is the post where I set my PC to 192.168.1.1 running TFTP...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

FYI - I followed that post and it doesn't help. It ignores the situation where the camera is looking for 192.168.1.1, and that the TFTP software (according to what was said earlier) must run on 192.0.0.128. I have a friend that might have access to a layer 3 switch that would allow me to do...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

Wireshark is showing that the camera is looking for 192.168.1.1. (Prior, when I was in a boot loop before I got the junky firmware on the camera, it was looking for 198.0.0.128) You say TFTP only works on 192.0.0.128. Does the above mean that I have to use NAT to map one IP to the other...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

My apologies, I might have forgotten to explicitly follow up on that. I had read through the thread, and your firmware is the one that I really want to get on my camera. Like REALLY, REALLY bad...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I can only speak from what happened from my point of view, but I did it because I typically update my firmware regularly (security, fixes, etc.) If the thought had crossed my mind that I would have had a problem, I wouldn't have done it. It was completely my mistake, not knowing what I was...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I re-read this and realized I didn't test exactly what you inquired. So I put my Ethernet back to 192.0.0.128 and turned on wireshark and powered up the camera. I don't see a single thing in the over 10 minutes I've left it running that looks like the camera is issuing anything to or from...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

That's correct. I filtered by the camera's mac (src / dst) for any traffic. After waiting a long time, it just repeated. The capture shows exactly what I seen. Prior, when stuck in the boot loop, I was seeing more activity.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

So I spent some one-on-one time with Wireshark again. I filtered based on the mac address. I noticed that the camera was looking for something on 192.168.1.1. That's the IP of my router. So I bumped it's IP and set my laptop to be 192.168.1.1. So I waited (takes forever before I see this...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

Something I don't understand is if I don't see TFTP and the camera connect when trying the other firmware linked a few comments above, I can't see how a different firmware would change anything since it's just the payload. Of course I'm not in the "boot loop" situation now (and again, I really...

I bought it a month ago. I picked it up off of ebay. Chinese model of course, well reviewed seller. On the bottom there is a sticker.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

No dice. Once I started seeing how the camera wasn't reacting to SADP, I tried to repeat the process but use the other firmware. No luck. I run ping while plugging in the camera and it doesn't respond at all. It's like it's not running on that IP (192.0.0.64).

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I'd like to thank each of you for getting me this far. I think you're doing this for free, so it's very much appreciated. I might need to start another thread though. I can see my camera in SADP (Software Version V4.0.8build 150401) but I'm not having any success changing the settings...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

WOAH boys and girls, we got life! I got to thinking about how wonky Windows firewalls were, and when alastairstevenson mentioned the inbound firewall rules, I decided to press 't' a few times to see what was in there. Sure enough, windows set a bunch of rules on tftpserv. Then I remembered...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

Yea, you're right. I need to prioritize this work during the day where I can get a hold of someone else's computer. Preferably XP, since I recall (before I switched it to debian) XP on my old Dell 710m was the only thing able to root my android. Of course I had to be stupid and do this while...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

I added a special rule for TFTP incoming to allow everything. I disabled my puny Windows Defender. It doesn't really have network access protection. No dice. But thanks for the tips. It was worth a try.

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

/sigh, busy weekend. I'm starting to wonder if it's not working because the camera's terminating the open port very quickly. Does that make any sense? C:\WINDOWS\System32>ping -t 192.0.0.64 Pinging 192.0.0.64 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.0.0.128: Destination host unreachable. Reply...

Help reverting or fixing a 5.3.0 firmware update

Here's my current plan for tonight: I'm going to repeat my steps, and I might try running TFTP as "administrator". (I think this is set by default, but my head is so frayed, I'm at least going to double-check.) If that doesn't work... I'm not going to use my Asus RT-N56U as the middle...

It runs, so I can't imagine it being corrupted. If it were corrupted, it'd be highly unlikely that the program would execute. I'm also on my 2nd HikVision TFTP. So I kinda tried that already :(

I'm running it from C:\TFTP-Auto-Update\ if that's what you mean? Or do you really mean put it on the C:\ root?
