Camera to stream basketball games at church

@HMC8403 someone else asked about cameras for streaming a sporting event. My thoughts at the time was to use a portable basketball hoop to mount the camera to. If you have portables around, you can roll it around to find the best spot. You can mount at various heights to get the vantage point...

How to waterproof a PFA130-E junction box

@ministrymason You keep mentioning a cable gland. I do not think finding one to clamp down on cat5 cable would be difficult. I have done this several times with cat5 cable and SO cord. But I think most glands would be to deep to screw it inside. How about a pipe to barbed connection like uxcell...

Junction box hole size for my conduit

Yes the 1/2 is 1/2 inch. But with pipe 1/2 is nominal not actual! It looks like the 20mmx1/2” is the right fitting for your 15mm pipe. But I’m just a yank! Your results may vary.

Junction box hole size for my conduit

So the conduit is comparable to our 1/2 pipe size. You might ask if they have g1/2 fittings. A US hardware store would not but maybe yours? Or Amazon.com.au? This from Bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/holman-15mm-x-1-2-pvc-valve-socket_p3141883 says 1/2 but I am clueless on if Australia 1/2"...

Junction box hole size for my conduit

From that link, that jb has one g1/2 opening on the back and 2 g1/2 openings along the perimeter of the box. G designation is for british standard pipe. It is roughly 1/2 npt. 15mm conduit seems a bit odd. Where are you measuring it? If you look at G Pipe Thread vs NPT - Metleader, you might be...

    Amazon deal $70 JUNE 19 2025 : NETGEAR 8-Port PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Essentials Switch (GS308PP) - with 8 x PoE+ @ 83W

I didn’t need one of these at $70 but it turned out that I did at $50! I got it yesterday and noticed “flexpoe” on the box. Just put a bigger power supply on it and get a higher poe budget. Is this hokus pokus? The upgraded power supply is way more than the switch. Would this apply to all poe...

    Electrical Inspection Wall Of Shame

I kept getting a tingle when my forearm touched a slider when getting into the RV. I checked with my Fluke between the slider and concrete pad. It started out about 10 and I decided I would need to look into it later. At 60 volts, it hurt and I decided I should look into it NOW! The ground pin...

    The official "WTF" thread

Back about 1990, my Irish Shepherd had to be put down. I couldn't bear to be there for it so I released her to the vet and picked up ashes a couple of weeks later. Vet said the cremation occurred in NYC. I lived upstate back then. It wasn't that much later that the news reported that vets in...

I'm not saying that the Egyptian government...

I liked the look of that intimidator. Liked the 8 ply tires. With mesquite, flats are a way of life. It seems difficult to find anything greater than 6 ply. I fought flats on my tractor until I went with gensco tires. It does mention that it has a metal skid plate so I guess the rest is...

My current home is built with ICFs. We built it in 1999 and have 70 yards (?, I forget) of concrete in the walls. Probably build with them again next year. Builders try to stick with old inefficient technologies and jack up prices on something like this to discourage you from asking anything...

I put brillo pad in my intake neck for the dobbers. Even though the air filter would keep it out of the carb, there was so much dirt in the cover it made me nervous. I have a friend that runs solar out in the Big Bend region. They were actually contributing to the grid. He said the...

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

Quick check shows about $7,000 new! I'm guessing the 2023/02 is a production date which means it is only 2 years old. $250 is a steal! Something that does pique my interest is that it is rated at 3600 rpm for a diesel engine. I tend to think of them as a lower rpm machine. 1800 rpm with a 4 pole...
