    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

Yeah the PC parts are pretty pricey also but second hand you can pick up a few bargains. I just wanted to move away from the requirement of having to use proprietary parts hence putting a system together. If something fails then it isn't as hard to replace. It took me a couple of weeks to track...

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

I wish I could find an elitedesk for around $200. They are double that here most of the time.

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

Just looking into it and I can even update the bios on the b150 board and run a 7th gen chip. A few more of these going around that are readily accessible.

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

So I changed the PSU on my system and that didn't work. I figured maybe it was a dead MB so I picked up a refurbished b150 Asus board with a new case and PSU so I no longer had to worry about using the proprietary PSU, CPU fan etc. Put the system together using the same HD, SSD, RAM and CPU...

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

Seeing as i'm using all 4 ports out of my modem running to different PC's and switches which then go to TV's and other devices I should probably look into running 4 of them I guess.

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

When you say ethernet protection do you mean for every line? or just the one that runs into the PC?

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

Yeah I have a multi meter I just don't what I should be testing and what the readings should be. It's weird that everything else in the house is fine. Well as far as I can tell anyway.

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

Yeah sorry about that, it's an elitedesk 800 g2 with an i5 6500 CPU. No it didn't have a surge protector. I'm wondering if the psu crapping itself caused the power in my house to cut momentarily.

    HP elitedesk 800 g2 issues

Hi guys, I have had my system running for a fair while with no issues. Yesterday I think I may have either had a power surge because the power went out for a few seconds and everything came back on except my CCTV PC. The green light still comes on on the motherboard but pressing the power but...

    Please help - IPC-HDW4231EM-ASE-0360B

Ok I got everything working again. I tracked down an old post from someone having a similar issues. I changed my IP address (ipv4 properties) back to be in the same subnet as to what the cameras were in which allowed me to log into the cameras and change the IP address to suit the new subnet and...

    Please help - IPC-HDW4231EM-ASE-0360B

Hi guys, So i have had my system running fine for a few months now and haven't had a hick up since I got it all sorted. Just the other day a new modem rocked up from my NBN service provider and they changed the service so that my old modem could no longer be used. It was just meant to be a...

Help need to get all the times to line up.

@fenderman I am not quite sure what you mean. The time on the camera is the same as the time on the PC. It's just the recording bar that is half an hour out.

Help need to get all the times to line up.

Yeah it sure did. I still have half an hour time difference between the clips and the recording bar though.

Help need to get all the times to line up.

Cheers awsum140. That is done, I will wait to see if that reflects the correct times in the log next time it does a check.

Help need to get all the times to line up.

So firstly my sunrise and sunset times are way off, by like half a day it would seem. Is there anyway to get BI to pick up the local times for here in little old Adelaide, SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Secondly, the recorded clips seem to line up great with time reflected on BI server/PC however the...

    Trouble using Direct-to-disc

I am having a similar issue with direct to disk. I have a 3tb WD purple drive installed in an Elite desk i5 6500 system running 2 x 2mp starlights. If i change from re-encode with settings to direct to disk nothing actually records. I get a live preview but there is no file saved. If something...

    So what next?

OK I think I get the IP address section, what about the DNS settings. Do they need to be something specific?

    So what next?

Ok so cams are all plugged in and functioning. I will get to installing them soon. Just another quick one, how do I set my blue iris PC to have a static IP. Just checking that it is in properties IPv4 settings and change from dynamic to static and just set IP as necessary.

    So what next?

As you can see I am very very new to any type of networking. Honestly if the routers didn't half set themselves up I would still be in a world of pain. I'm slowly figuring it out. I currently have a tp link Wi-Fi modem/ router with the Wi-Fi disabled in the ceiling. I'm using a netgear r7000 in...

    So what next?

That's awesome advice cheers for the run down. Just one thing about the IP addresses for the cameras. I'm guessing I should start about 20 or 30 steps above how ever many devices I have in my house to avoid any future conflicts with the router assigning the same IP address to something else.

    So what next?

Ok so I finally bit the bullet and purchased a refurbished Hp Elitedesk i5 6500 with windows 10 installed, 8gb ram and a 128g SSD. I am yet to by a WD purple drive for storage but will get to that soonish. I am now waiting on a pair of IPC-HDW4231EM-AS Dahua starlights to arrive in the post...

Hi to all, new member just seeking a bit of advice.

The more I look into all of this I think I am starting to decifer what I actually need to. Thanks for all the help so far.

Hi to all, new member just seeking a bit of advice.

Well that was a fun exercise, lol. I went in and disabled the DHCP on the R7000 without giving it a new static IP address. I also didn't switch over the ethernet plug on both the tp-link and R7000 to LAN positions. As you can imagine I lost all internet and had to force a factory reset on the...

Hi to all, new member just seeking a bit of advice.

Cheers Tony, yeah I think I currently have it set up how you have it described in paragraph 2. I will have a look at how succesfull I can be changing it around.

Hi to all, new member just seeking a bit of advice.

Ok then I get what your saying. Might just be more user friendly and cost effective to do without the nvr. A switch in the roof of the house and a switch in the shed either (wired/point to point/powerline) and just get a stand alone PC. This way I wont ever really be limited to the number of...

Hi to all, new member just seeking a bit of advice.

Wow guys, thanks for all the responses. Going from a response by TonyR, If i were to purchase an 8ch NVR with 8poe plugs could I run 4 or 5 wired cameras around the house directly plugged into the NVR and plug the NVR into the home network router. Then either (run a cable from the router to the...

Hi to all, new member just seeking a bit of advice.

Hi guys, only issue with the powerline adapters is that my shed runs on its on fuse box so it's not the same circuit as the house. But thanks for the idea. I have been looking into all different options. I have a spare modem that I could chuck down in the shed and creat a wireless bridge...
