Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

Well I'll be dipped in skittles... Vettester that right there worked a treat! Thank you very much for the idea. I just did some quick regedit and now my alprdb is surviving reboots no problem! Thanks @Vettester !

Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

I do have linux boxes on my lan that could run this, but I'd rather keep it all on the same PC. My HA rpi seems inappropriate for this (especially running hassos), my NAS is off limits for this sort of thing, which leaves the pi5 I use only for ham radio operation stuff... if I put alprdb on...

Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

Roger that. I tried using the manual install method, and it works, but same issue with it starting as a service. I randomly tried enabling the 'docker desktop service' with autostart in windows services, but that didn't work either. Since my BI pc is headless, alprdb becomes pretty much useless...

Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

Weird, my issue was slightly different, as I did see successful db connection in the logs. I got it actually fully working now after several attempts to remove and reinstall the container. Some observations I made along the way... 1) The first issue I ran in to, the admin password not...

Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

I do have "unless-stopped" in my compose file. Not sure if that has to be "always", and I need to somehow get docker desktop started as a service. On another note, I got some recognized plates with it running, but they aren't going into the database and the logs show the error: '[ERROR]Error...

Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

Quick question, how do I ensure docker and the container will it restart after a reboot? I saw in docker desktop settings a checkbox for "start docker desktop when user logs in", but that didn't sound like 'starting as a service' so not sure if it would work.

OK thank you. I verified all of those directories exist, and have 'admin' permissions (which is administrator for the PC)... same user I installed docker and the alprdb script with. The dockercompose.yaml matches what the manual install instructions say... with the correct passwords. What worked...

Sorry I am a complete newb when it comes to docker. I just followed the instructions on the github to install on the BI pc. What is an auth directory?

So I just tried installing this using the script, and everything seems to have completed correctly, except that it keeps throwing "incorrect password" errors when I try to log into the app (http://localhost:3000). I triple checked the password is correct. I even deleted/reinstalled the container...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I'm working on getting 2.9.5 with the current ALPR working, and it seems I have mostly issues with trigger timing. I am foggy on the application of the setting "Analyze One Image Each: XXmsec". Does this control the time between each image, centered 'before' and 'after' the trigger point? ...or...

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

That seems a bit odd, the 251 address. Maybe the camera firmware is not corrupted but just misconfigured? Have you tried a factory reset using the button (or jumper if button isn't installed)? See the document linked here if you are unsure how...

Awesome Mike, and no rush or worries about getting any testing done. Whenever you manage to get around to it is fine. My PC is relatively new, but perhaps I cheaped out a bit on it. The psu won't really be able to handle more than a p400.

Woah yeah... I did see some weird text like that one time in BI logs. Not sure what's up, but even 1800%? [edit: Note I saw the long return time and decided to hit the button again... and now nothing "No Predictions Returned". Something either intermittent, or corrupt after first use?

OK, I'm not sure it will help though since alpr/license-plates v2 in the cpai explorer are not working as they should. FWIW, I also tried it and it failed with my old cam settings as shown below:

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I've been trying to troubleshoot alpr not returning plate numbers for a few weeks now... since I first attempted to upgrade from CPAI 2.1.9 to 2.1.11. I initially had issues installing the update, but got those sorted. Some things I've tried... deleting all CPAI folders and reinstalling CPAI...

    CPAI 2.1.11 not working

I did just notice this log in CPAI after rebooting: 19:34:12: 19:34:12:Started Object Detection (YOLOv5 6.2) module 19:34:13:Server: This is the latest version 19:34:24:ALPR_adapter.py: Timeout connecting to the server

    CPAI 2.1.11 not working

So I feel silly about the ProgramData folder... it was just hidden. Before I go on, I'll mention that rolling back 2.1.9 did work 100%, as the LPR was not returning license plate OCR like it was before. So I decided to try 2.1.11 again. I deleted all installconfig.json's found including the one...

    CPAI 2.1.11 not working

Nope, didn't work for me. The install seemed to get farther along, but there was an error mentioning something to the effect of "Google auth-0 version is too new" during install. After installing, my attempts to download the plate reader module failed, with logs showing just "call failed". Also...

    CPAI 2.1.11 not working

To clarify, how did you get another running PC up and running? Was it with 2.1.11, or an older version? I can see the contents of installconfig.json include a version and install ID, which would likely have to change at least. Not sure about the other file... or why it gets corrupted to begin...

Would like help with Net Time

FWIW, there is a good chance the router that is controlling the network has the ability to enable an NTP server already built in to the stock firmware. It's a common feature on routers for the last 15years or so. The big advantage of router based NTP is it is always available; in this case it...

    CPAI 2.1.11 not working

So I have had BI working perfectly with CPAI 2.1.9 for some time, and stupidly decided to upgrade to 2.1.11 today. The initial install seemed to go OK, but once it's running and I try to install any modules (for example Yolo v6.2), it fails with logs showing just "Failed to call". I tried...

Beware of Z-Wave 700 series controllers

Not sure how long it has been out, but the latest firmware for the z-stick7 (7.19.2) is working well for my HA setup. My HA pi4 has been running hassos w/ a nortek husbzb-1 stick for a very long time. Since I decommissioned all of my zigbee devices over the years, and have a zwave node that...

45ms delay between PTZ input and camera movement, is this normal?

At 30fps the video feed updates every ~33msec. Most folks are running security cameras at 15fps or lower, which means at least 66msec between frames. This could get in the way of a 10msec ptz control link having the same feel as 10msec on csgo. Also for reference, pro freestyle and racing drone...

    5.5.8 - June 13, 2022 - Code Project’s SenseAI Version 1 - See V2 here https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/codeproject-ai-version-2-0.68030/

Not sure if you saw the double commas in the last one, but that would confirm everything (likely won't solve your issue, but fix it still). Also, I noticed you have "(External - Nothing Found)" in your BI logs. "External" indicates the trigger is coming from an external source (not motion)...

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

I am not sure what "8+2" means, but I think most modern unmanaged switches (sold after 2000) have auto mdi-x (ie port detection) built in so you don't have to worry about mixing 568a and 568b cables for clients and uplinks. So you don't even need a managed switch to do this... just plug stuff in...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

AFAIK there's no way to "invert" the server/client as you mention using openvpn. You would need a server at your remote site as well if you want to access using a client from home. I'm not familiar with 5G modems, or what options you have to get this working. I know asus routers do have the...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

I have doubts it's the cause of delivery not working for you, but you probably should remove all of the "Mark as vehicle" entries since you aren't confirming plates or vehicles on this one. I vaguely remember seeing those blue/orange double rectangle icons in the ai logs when ai was misbehaving...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

Quick report on accuracy of my system... I get 99% california plates, at a less than ideal ~45* angle or so. It has already been mentioned that dealing with "0" vs "O" is a steep hill to climb for OCR, and may be easier to deal with in PP. I noticed some other consistent errors to go with this...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

This is similar to how alpr behaves with images containing some commercial vehicles with assorted text/numbers painted on the vehicle. For example state contractor license numbers sometimes appear in place of a plate number. This is something that is easy to filter out in post processing, but...
