The cables go through a hole into the (weatherproof) OSB soffit of the overhang in front of my garage. There is no room for towels, etc. in that space. -

That's exactly what happened. I swapped locations. Bad stayed bad, good stayed good. Not cabling/power, as good cam works at both locations. -

The patch cord going to the switch has AWM 2835 60 C 30V VW-1 26AWG/4PRS. The cable going out to the cam is 23 AWG 75 C (UL) C(UL) CMR---ETL VERIFIED TO TIA..... So, no CCA. -

Final update: Thank you all for your help with the troubleshooting process. It has been below freezing for a couple of days; however, with the new PoE injector installed, the camera has been operating like a champ! -

Thanks for the ideas, lol. I don't know what type of CAT 5 I am using. I used an electrician friend's connector tool to put the RJ45 ends on. My chest freezer is in my garage, which is cold, but I could open the patio slider and set the camera outdoors for 10 minutes, then see if it fires up... -
