Thanks. I have VPN connection set-up at home, so can access my local IP devices when its enabled on my phone etc, so that provides a secure connection without the neeed of port forwarding, and saves having two profiles. I have noticed a couple of timing event differences between local IP... -

Thanks - You're a life saver - I just logged-out of my account and was then able to connect over IP, and all the thumbnails are working GREAT :) ... Not sure why I'd want to connect any other way, because I have a static iP so can connect whilst away as well. It did say you lose your alarm... -

I will re-check once home, but as said all the other older apps work just fine, but they have very small thumbnail icons, which means you may as well not have them at ALL :) .. but I recall this was not an option when I initially set this up ,and the engineer who installed my cameras for me... -

Correct, I can't seem to connect via IP on the DMSS app, but can with some of there order versions which do show the thumbnail, but very small LOL... I wonder if it's a regional thing.. in regards to app version capabilities. -

shame that's not an option - because other apps work just fine, so it would be nice to see DMSS app introduce local connection.. My third-party app works fine remotely as well , but again its a direct connection with the exception of DNS / outside interference of course, but still works fine... -

Thanks, although can you confirm if yours is working just fine in regarding to thumbnails always displaying correctly for motion video events on the DMSS app. I have not found anyone that says it works correctly yet.. I would welcome that new and a workable solution :) Thanks -

Just an FYI : There is another App 'Amcrest View Pro 2' that also works well with Dahau NVRs /cameras and the notifications including motion video thumbnails work on this one too. The looks and feels similar to the DMSS app. -

DMSS mobile app thumbnail images - supported?
If anyone knows of any other workarounds, solutions, and or a better apps that provide this functionality with Dahua NVRs please let me know. Thanks- Dave_17

There is a workaround using another app ‘EasyViewer Plus’ which connects directly to your NVR accounts. This does show all the thumbnails, although unfortunately they’re very small compared to those on the DMSS app, although I guess better than having none … . I‘ve been trying to find a...- Dave_17

Yes, it’s a shame really, as i like the DMSS app better, but the EasyViewP Plus app works well too and display thumbnails for all my events - Its been working all day. The only draw-back is the thumbnails are very small , but it’s nice to have them at least. You have to login with your admin... -

I am not convinced it's anything to do with the NVR in regards to my own configuration. I think it's more to do with the DMSS App. This is for two reasons, I can see both the motion videos and embedded thumbnails on the NVR, so everything is working as it should be, but the DMSS app just doesn't... -

agree, I also think the fact thumbnails seem to display when cameras are switched to black and white mode also point to file-size as a possibility. I have been trying to find another IOS or MAC app that works with Dahua cameras/NVRs that has the motion / thumbnail functionality as this would... -

It's certainly an unusual problem. I also know someone who installs these cameras and they've never heard of this issue before. I am also in conversation with Dahau support on this issue, so hopefully we're able to identify the cause. I am wondering if it has something to do with the file sizes... -
