    Digital zoom with video?

I got it working using my touchpad eventually but by bringing 2 fingers together instead of spreading them apart. That works for me with my mouse less setup. I click on the area of interest and then bring 2 fingers together and boom I was zooming in.

    Digital zoom with video?

thanks Looney but it was just a specific that someone would either know or not in avoidance of burrowing for a while but thanks for your input. @wittaj: i didn't have any luck with clicking the pointer and trying to evoke a zoom with my keyboard with touchpad without having a mouse or using...

    Digital zoom with video?

yeah that would work but I wondered can you select a small area (like draw a rectangle). With scrolling in guess it would be the middle of the image just getting larger and not a targeted area like i'm shooting for, if i've understood you right. Re' the tablet i see what you mean but am not...

    Digital zoom with video?

I've been using BI for about a month now and it seems (for me) to handle Motion detection far better than my native Hik software (and IVM4200) ever did wiht my 2 cams. . It seems I can catch a lot more if not virtually everything and at whatever speed. I use it outside my home with my my ANPR...

    Post camera motion detiection?

Thanks for the input guys, for £50/$63 i think i'll take a punt probably. I have read about BI's success and otherwise regarding motion detection and it has a bundle of other functions i may use too. The built in server and accessing this with my mobile is a big tick. Problem wise for me it's...

    Post camera motion detiection?

Blue Iris looks pretty good but I guess that means i'd have a PC running 24/7 which is something i'd have to consider. So am i right in thinking Blue iris would take my camera feeds (or streams) and be able to offer better motion detection than my cameras and their native software/hardware...

    Post camera motion detiection?

Hi, I use 2 ANPR Cams to monitor my busy road and eventually realised what they missed (due to motion detection not activating if the subject moved too fast) was often more than they were capturing so I moved over to Continuous recording. Now with everything being captured I of course have to...

IVM4200 and recording to my PC (no NVR)

thanks Witaj and Revo for both of your responses. I had a look at NAS info with the aim of recording to my pc but didn't come away from it feeling i'd grasped it though it looks possible for me maybe. I have several SS Hard Drives to use if i could make that happen. I know that each cam with...

IVM4200 and recording to my PC (no NVR)

Hi, I'm still fairly new to IP cams and couldn't find an answer searching on my question so wondered if someone could tell me if it's possible to record the continuous output of my 2 ipcams onto my PC using HIkvisioniVM4200 or not? . i have SD cards in both my ip cam and want to leave them...

trouble adding 2nd local cam to ivm4200

I'm having trouble adding a 2nd ipcam to ivm4200 despit having them both on a few weeks ago, i can view both independently on browsers using local ip address but only one of them is accepted after finding them online within ivm4200. There is a message (also in pic) that says 'OEM device...

Using iVMS-4200 to remotely connect into my home network?

thanks for the responses, my question was really aimed at someone who might be using iVMS-4200 for help but thanks for re-iterating those things. I apreciate the link to iVMS-4200 by the way. It can be a bit of a maze at times!

Using iVMS-4200 to remotely connect into my home network?

Hi, thanks for reading my post. From my home i run x2 ANPR cams without any nvr or dvr and view them on my browser locally so my 2cam setup is as simple as that. It all works satisfactory on 3 setups either using HIK Connect (on phone) or the iVMS-4200 software or as mentioned just using my...

Accessing my ip cams remotely without nvr/dvr

ok thanks. I think i need to find some info on exactly how to use IVMS4200 outside of my home as i'm running before i can walk with it probably. It's all very well using on my home network but I need to get out and try and connect into my home network and work out how to do that step by step.

Accessing my ip cams remotely without nvr/dvr

ok thanks, thats understood re' the VPN with the tunnelling back into my home network and the security it offers. I'll assume i shouldn't need an NVR as i dont currently use one for local access to my cams. Can I ask would the VPN part of the setup give me a 'fixed' home network address (or...

Accessing my ip cams remotely without nvr/dvr

Another thought was can I use Hik vision iVMS-4200 software to give me remote access to my cams (no nvr) or would i need an nvr to let me into my home network? . I've got both cams and this program running locally at home but have not been able to get out of the house and try it off my wi-fi...

Accessing my ip cams remotely without nvr/dvr

thanks for the info i'll check them all out. To look at my ip cams remotely i imagined it went: 1/ Get my local network cam ip address (192.168 ***) 2/ Add this onto whatever my current outside public ip address is (and maybe the port number) and then get port forwarding setup on my home...

Accessing my ip cams remotely without nvr/dvr

I have 2 hikvision ANPR cams that are on my home network and i don't run an nvr or dvr in the setup and just record to SD card and have 2 local ip addresses. I'd like to view the Hikvision web interface (that i see at home on the local ip) remotely or allow another remote user to access it. I'm...

2 ipcams without NVR - how does that work?

i've 2 ipcams and no experience of setting them both up on my home network at the same time. . I know my cam is usually found at 192.168.1 64 so does the 2nd cam needs a different IP configuring possibly? Most 2 cam tutes i can find use NVR's which I don't have and am not looking to use unless...

Struggling to get a mic going with my IDS-2CD7A26G0-P-IZHSY (ANPR Cams)

I see the variation in those different mic bundles and how you get them set up and the variables. I have a spower splitter cable that came with one mic so'l will try that. thanks Thanks lewic, looney2ns, Jackson67 all that above is good info i can use too.

Struggling to get a mic going with my IDS-2CD7A26G0-P-IZHSY (ANPR Cams)

thanks for all the input, wow. OK i was just being led by things like this guys vid and copied his link up method: He seems to manage to power both the cam and the mic by routing out the power from the splitter to the microphone - and then from the mic power out lead to his cam . That looked...

Struggling to get a mic going with my IDS-2CD7A26G0-P-IZHSY (ANPR Cams)

OK, i had assumed the power from the 48v Injector was shared btwn the cam and the 12 volts (or whatever) the mic needed from what I gathered but maybe that's not the case then. My wiring loom at the back of the cam does have a 12v power out pin block on it so would you suggest I use that to go...

Struggling to get a mic going with my IDS-2CD7A26G0-P-IZHSY (ANPR Cams)

Hi, thanks. Yes i think I'm right in thinking my mics are powered as they are on a POE injector line (cat 5) which arrives at a splitter, the cat 5 line becomes just a data cable and goes into the cam, the splitter has a power out cable that goes into the power in cable on the mic (mic pic...

Struggling to get a mic going with my IDS-2CD7A26G0-P-IZHSY (ANPR Cams)

Hi, i'm trying to enable audio on my 2 anpr HIK vision cams, it has an audio in female 3.5min jack which presumably is my way in with any cheap IP cam mic, in reality none of the mics i have come across yet (3 bought) have a 3.5mm male output jack and are usually female RCA plugs. To that end i...

iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHSY - Workarounds for getting motorcyle plates/events anyone?

lol, yep a good little bundle of notes would solve my issue. Anyway it seems like the HIK iDS-TCM203-A could be the go to for what i need, I cannot get a price or even a straight answer on their availability from who i've asked so far, its got a 2MP lens instead of the pricier 4MP version...

iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHSY - Workarounds for getting motorcyle plates/events anyone?

I am having a good experience with the iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHSY camear and vehicle capture but finding motorcyle events does take a while looking through the pic history or scrollng the playback video. I can see the metadata flying off the motorcyle plates as the green box surrounds them and i'd be...

Can anyone recommend a UK vendor that sells the Hikvision 4MP LPR Network Bullet iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHSY 4MP with a 8-32mm lens. Prices are all over the place and i've not much experience with any traders or outlets that are competetive in the UK. thanks. Sean
