    Help With reboot the Cam

Are the PoE switches managed versions? If so - the switch command line access should allow disable / enable of a specified port, which will power-cycle the connected camera.

Marginal I think. A few more specifics in the text than usual - and a bigger time gap than usual between joining and posting and last seen.

    Dahua NVR5216P-EI2 / EmpireTech #NVR16CH-16P-2AI-S2

I just realised - I'd made the assumption that the reformat suggestion was about dealing with the SMART data showing reallocated sectors, as opposed to some logical inconsistency in the file structures on the HDD causing the playback issues. Dohh!

    Dahua NVR5216P-EI2 / EmpireTech #NVR16CH-16P-2AI-S2

That's not a valid suggestion as a response to seeing the SMART data that indicates that a small part of the HDD surface has an imperfection. All it does is to clear the tables that point to where data is stored on the disc, it will do nothing to change the fact that a few sectors have been...

    Dahua NVR5216P-EI2 / EmpireTech #NVR16CH-16P-2AI-S2

sdb has a non-zero reallocated sector count (52). Not that high - but worth a periodic check to see if it grows over time.

How to view footage when hard drive pulled from NVR?

I'm assuming that if Lorex (Dahua) are like Hikvision and use a proprietary file system to store video, events, logs etc on an HDD, you'll need to use one of the various forensics software tools to access the stored data. Try this Google search - "forensic tool to read NVR files on a pc" A few...

Hikvision DVR reboot loop unable to load firmware via TTL serial TFTP server console

It sounds like you've bumped into another of Hikvision's 'security by obscurity' ploys. If they've just replaced 'setenv' with another word, I've not come across it, sorry. It will be interesting to see if anyone has figured this out ...

    NVR Recommendation

That's for decoding the video to display it on the monitor. It does not specify what the NVR is capable of when recording the video from the cameras to the HDD, that's the incoming bandwidth and maximum resolution parts of the specification. For the NVR you quoted, this is : Max 320 Mbps...

Need Help Resetting Hikvision Camera Password

What does SADP show for the firmware version of the cameras?

My EmpireTech cameras do not support NTP server setting via DHCP option 42, do other brands allow this?

Alternatively, use a URL as opposed to an IP address for the NTP server configuration. Then, given a name resolution service (DNS) the setting becomes location independent if the camera was moved.

Thanks for letting me join, help would be appreciated

Ouch! Letting the entire internet in to an NVR with old firmware risks it and possibly the LAN is on being compromised. That's poor advice. Much safer to check out the many helpful guides here on setting up a secure VPN to enable remote access.

Need Help Resetting Hikvision Camera Password

OK, so the camera is on an NVR PoE port. Best to run the cable direct from the PC. That's normal for a Hikvision NVR. Temporarily set the PC IP address to 192.168.254.100 and try the URL as specified, using the camera IP address in it. I'm not sure - the camera should download a file called...

Need Help Resetting Hikvision Camera Password

That's a suitable vulnerable version of firmware that should allow the camera configuration file to be extracted without the need for credentials. Assuming that the camera is on the same network with the same IP address range as the PC, in other words you can reach the camera web GUI login page...

    Hikvision DS-7716NI-14/16P with board DS-80243

What's the firmware version on the NVR, as shown by Hikvision's SADP tool? If you can get your hands on a Hikvision camera running firmware 5.3.0 to 5.4.1 this little trick often works : https://www.ipcamtalk.com/threads/alternative-way-of-recovering-hikvision-nvr-password.39493/#post-363654...

    illustra ip cam

Do the events show in the NVR log? In the NVR event configuration, do you have 'Notify Surveillance Centre' ticked in the 'Linkage Method' tab? Have you tried querying for motion events using the iVMS-4200 Windows app? (depends on the above) It's ages since I've seen any Hikvision NVR firmware...

Would appreciate some help with a Hikvision camera if possible please.

Suggestion : If the firmware version is still as shown on the label (check with Hikvision's SADP tool), then the camera configuration file should be able to be extracted without the need for authentication. If so, it can be decrypted and decoded to reveal the password. Use this URL to try to...

Hikvision - Clearing Passwords and/or Loading Firmware via TTL Serial

That's the Linux passwords, not the NVR admin passwords. If that's actually a Hikvision OEM E-series, NVR, there are various ways to extract the NVR admin password. If you can get your hands on a Hikvision R0-series IP camera that has the vulnerable firmware between 5.3.0 and 5.4.4 the 'trojan...

FFMPEG grab multi RTSP streams concurrently with their own start time offsets

OK, maybe you can work from this example - The main.bat runs straight through with no waits, starting all 3 child programs running independently with their own timings. main.bat program_1.bat program_2.bat program_3.bat

FFMPEG grab multi RTSP streams concurrently with their own start time offsets

Presumably the main batch file can just spawn per-camera command files in a mode that does not await their completion before the main file continues execution. If that makes sense.

FFMPEG grab multi RTSP streams concurrently with their own start time offsets

Not that I've used Windows batch for decades - so I may be wrong, but - The batch file is executing in strict sequence, and the timeout command pauses execution for the specified period. So in the example above, cam1 would start at run time, and cam3 would start after the pause in execution for...
