Hey Everyone, especially @alastairstevenson .... I have managed to get 7 of the 8 cameras going! Before ordering the hardware above, I thought..... as a long shot, I will email Hikvision support, and see if they help me. My hopes were not high, given the other stories I had read online. It...

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

I have tried a number of firmware versions, nothing yet. Interesting developments: The two red lights on the camera stay on permanently now, whereas previously they went on for about 20 secs. The camera is no longer coming up on SADP. I tested a non-flashed camera, and it comes up on SADP...

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

Thanks, I am willing to put as much time as needed into this. I have downloaded Wireshark and run a capture. I can see references to Hikvision in the capture, such as: No. Time Source Destination Protocol Length Info 26 18.637065 192.168.254.6 224.0.0.251 MDNS...

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

Yep. The NVR appears to be working fine, as I factory re-set it, and then updated to the latest Firmware. I thought this was the best thing to do, being a second hand system.... apparently not!

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

I am running them directly from the NVR. How do I set the cameras back to default factory? I thought that is what the tftp software does?

Nope, its 12.6V at 0.5 Amps.... Is it normal to have no internet connection when I change the IP address? I have turned all firewalls off: And also tried a different camera. PC is plugged into LAN 1, camera is in LAN 2 on the router/modem. Still, the camera isnt being picked up on tftp.

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

running into some issues... I think I have changed the IP address. The instruction are a little different, I am using Windows 10 Pro. But then when I run the tftp file, this appears: The camera has two red lights at the top when I power it up, but they go out after about 20 seconds. How...

Ok, I have not heard from the old owner, so am moving to Plan C - TFTP. I have read and re-read the instructions in the original thread. So far I have: Downloaded the TFTP from here: https://ipcamtalk.com/downloads/tftpserv.9/ Downloaded and installed CuteFTP, and enabled Telnet in Windows...

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

Excellent! I have messaged the seller, hopefully he gets back to me. It really seems bad practice from Hikvision that there isn't a work around here.... from an environmental perspective, there has been a lot of energy spent in making these cameras, only to end up in land-fill...... Will give...

oh no! Anything else I can screen-shot or give you? Is there any chance this is NOT a Camera password issue?

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

Yes.... I suspect the person I bought it off changed the NVR password to a generic one (A1234567), Would this have changed the camera password as well?

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

Not that I am aware of. I did a factory reset, then installed the latest firmware, ran the initial Wizard, which prompted passwords. When I change the IP Address in SADP to match the address on the NVR, it gives me a "Device Rejected" notification: Does that mean the password is wrong?

Help with Hilook NVR and Cameras - factory reset NVR

Hey there, I bought a second hand Hilook DVR and cameras recently. I naively thought factory resetting the NVR would be a good idea, now the cameras aren't being recognised. At first I assumed it was the dreaded IP Camera password issue, but wanted to check here before chucking the lot out...
