    considering I have about 30 cameras laying around hear; I think I'll go with the all in one box as its becoming to complicated to build the system for me. Even plugging a standard sata HDD into the box wont even work!

    Thanks for the links! So it records anolog then it transfers to didgital hence the HDD Think I can do better on the prcies of HDD though It says its an 8 channel, well I only need 2. Are there cheaper boxes out there with less channels? Has anyone done any maths hear on the kind of data...

    Yes that is what I was planning; As far as I have sean the basic ones hold upto 4 cameras a time. But I cant see why it would be hard to rig up

    As far as I am aware I have a picture on my TV from the coax cable, so if I had a video cassette recorder then Im sure it would be as easy as that, I dont see a proper recoding box being any different Again; dont understand instructions, dont know anyone I have a heap of other cameras laying...

    There is an eithernet port on the back of the camera if that is what you mean, I have an eithernet card in my PC if you think I should connect the two together and then as surgested go to my browser and type in the above code? Who could I hire to do this for me?

    Give PC's NIC (Ethernet port) a static IP of 192.168.1.22, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, no gateway IP needed.???

    There is a coax out port on the back of the camera that I ran a cable into the phono port of the TV to get an image. No there is no recording box present
