    Poor AI Detection Speed

NVIDIA P4's are cheap on eBay. Wonder if that would be better?

    Poor AI Detection Speed

The logs for me do say:

    Poor AI Detection Speed

As noted, I also see two GPUs listed, but I only have one. Both are slow. The CPU is even slower, but it's older. I finally reconfigured everything and I'm now using sub-streams where possible. Still getting 450 ms for detections. I'm using CUDA 11.7. It works, so I'm not sure anything newer...

I did not. Where is that?

    Poor AI Detection Speed

But good idea to test. I selected the intel one and it's 5x slower.

    Poor AI Detection Speed

That is an option in the AI menu, but I'm not using it. Oddly, I see there are two RTX 3050s listed. I have only a single card. Selecting either doesn't seem to make a difference.

BI's internal AI. The GPU is selected under AI.

Yeah, but some cameras don’t have a substream.

    Poor AI Detection Speed

I have an RTX 3050 in my PC with an i7-7700. I see AI detections take 500-1300 ms. That seems longer that it should be by at least an order of magnitude. I checked the logs and it claims it's using the GPU. I'm using yolov8s for the model. I seem to recall DeepStack was 100 ms or less. Has...

    Armcrest support is a joke

It was a few years ago. We did get it resolved.

    Armcrest support is a joke

I've used their customer service twice. Once could have been better but the second time was great. YMMV.

    Roku enters Home Security/Monitoring Business

I have a bunch of Roku set top boxes, and after seeing their software quality, I'd never buy anything from them related to security.

Moved from Blueiris to Scrypted NVR.

Only for critical and highly stable updates only. If that's beta testing, then I clearly need to dump BI.

All Alerts Today disappeared, also not alerting new ones

That happened to me last week. I ended updating BI and that seems to have fixed it. That is concerning.

Moved from Blueiris to Scrypted NVR.

Interesting. Thanks for the summary. I keep meaning to reevaluate BI. It has so many issues anymore, e.g. motion detection randomly stops working, push notifications randomly stop working, etc. It emails tiny, blurry images for the first but not 2-4th images. The BI iOS app is pretty bad, too...

Main/Substream and poor alert image quality

I email alerts also, and the first one is always low-res for the same reason.

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

I'm certainly no expert, but that may be typical for these things. It looks like they cranked up the gain and did a lot of digital noise reduction (look at the fence pickets when you drive by.) Signs are readable, but many are illuminated and y'all have lots of streetlights. Seems decent to me...

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

Looks like fairly low contrast and it's hard to read a lot of signs. The resolution is listed as 3840x2160, but I agree that it doesn't actually look that. VLC says around 40,000 kb/s. I've seen worse, though.

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

I've been shopping for a camera and it is annoyingly difficult to find something that does what one wants.

How does it do at night and at capturing license plates?

It got better, but then got worse. Not sure what's going on.

Can we use combination of Media Converter and SFP

Some SFP ports are 1 GbE only, and almost no cameras are that fast. Obviously one needs to power the camera separately.

    Anyone running DeepStack 2022.01.1?

All those things I noted have to be done or it definitely won't work. I wasn't running the old version very long before upgrading. I upgraded my CPU and motherboard so I needed to reinstall everything (since I also upgraded the OS.) It was pretty easy to get this new version of DS working. I...

    Anyone running DeepStack 2022.01.1?

Yes, I'm using it on Ubuntu in the Docker container they note on their installation page. It worked out of the box for me. The previous installation required a ton of updating since I have a newer GPU. This one just worked. Make sure you installed the GPU version and run it with GPUs enabled...

    Anyone running DeepStack 2022.01.1?

Looking at those prices, I’d suggest entering NewEggs Shuffle for an RTX 3060. The 3060 is 70% faster and just a little more money.

DeepStack only supports NVIDIA GPUs. From the install guide:

    anyone know about imac computers?

You'll likely have to erase the Mac if they have it linked to their iCloud account. I've not done that. If the device is set up with Mobile Device Management, you may not be able to turn that off, depending on the Mac. This may work for that...

    Anyone running DeepStack 2022.01.1?

I tried doing 4MP images with a 6th generation i5 and that timed out after 15 seconds. I didn't try the sub stream, however, which I suspect would have been much better. I kept entering the NewEgg shuffle and finally got a 3060 for a normal price.

    Anyone running DeepStack 2022.01.1?

No graphics card? You really do need an NVIDIA card for efficient image processing. Installing the latest release is pretty easy now.
