The focal length (4mm) is fixed, yes. But the FOCUS (focal distance) can't be adjusted (at least on the one I have). That means it's stuck focusing a few feet away and everything outside the DOF is blurry.
I've been using one for about a year. For me, I can't adjust the focus on the 4MP camera with the PTZ controls, which makes the 2nd sensor useless. The ANPR works ok and can capture the plates on fast moving cars at night at a distance.
Does anyone know the practical difference between the 7 and 9 series NVRs? According to the specs, the major difference seems to be RAID support and 8 vs 4 SATA drive support. Is that really the only difference? Or are the 9 series more powerful in some additional way, perhaps the cpu or gpu or...
@coney27 Yes, that's the firmware version I downloaded and installed from the Hikvision USA site. My GUI still looks like this (when logging in directly to the NVR browser interface). It doesn't read "NVR 4.0" in the upper left corner and the menu options don't match up to what I would expect...
Can anyone confirm? My DS-7716NXI-I4/16P/4S came preloaded with NVR 3.0 and it's still running what looks like NVR 3.0 after upgrading the firmware. Shouldn't it have NVR 4.0 since it's a current model? Appreciate anyone who can help
