    Install on eaves from attic

It would have to be very large to go over the deck and still be up 25'.

    Install on eaves from attic

I hate drilling into stucco since every hole could be a future problem. I'll likely have to do this on the other side of my house, but that should be easier to do. Where this is going, the deck has a fence around it for privacy so it would have to be pretty high to see over the fence. I don't...

    Install on eaves from attic

That is what I was thinking. Seems like it could work. I will need a fairly large hole to get the cables from the camera thought, so maybe my pipe flange idea would be a easier since it's just one thing to plan for. Two 3/4" black iron flanges and a 3/4" pipe nipple. Then I'd just have to get...

    Install on eaves from attic

I had a contractor put one in the front and he needed a 35' ladder. This in the back is on a deck. The eaves are at least 2' deep so there's plenty of space in the attic. There's a hot tub on the deck that complicates ladder placement.

    No Alerts When DeepStack fails

Such a script could help alert me, but if I can't get to it and fix it, then I'd be running blind. I guess there is no way to deal with that. Maybe I'll submit a support ticket or whatever they call that. I'm on paid support.

    Install on eaves from attic

They are vinyl soffit material. It's easy to drill through, but I won't have outside access without an enormous ladder. I was thinking of hoisting the camera up and somehow attaching it. Maybe with a bracket plate and a pipe flange into a piece of wood for stability.

    Install on eaves from attic

I'm thinking about installing a Loryta SD1A404XB-GNR for general awareness in my house. I want to install it under the eaves on a soffit. I'd like to install it without using a ladder. Has anyone tried doing this and could offer some tips? I have attic access, of course. I've installed pendant...

Main/Substream and poor alert image quality

I've selected Hi-Res JPEG for all cameras. None are sending the full image. It worked before I added sub streams to make DeepStack work quicker. I get postage-stamp sized images via email.

    No Alerts When DeepStack fails

I had an instance where my DeepStack installation failed. I run it on a separate box since the GPU won't fit into the PC I'm using for BI. It works fine over the network. My Linux installation appears to have upgraded something automatically and DS stopped working as a result. Thus BI would...

DeepStack Case Study: Performance from CPU to GPU version

I tried DeepStack with a i5 6500. 4 MP images were timing out after 15 seconds. I moved to the GPU version using an RTX 3060 which then was taking 250 ms. That's quite an improvement. I then moved to use the sub-stream from the camera and it's 25-50ms.

UPS Wasn't enough, now I'll never lose camera footage

That sounds pretty reasonable. I was debating air vs liquid cooling. There are pros and cons for each. Some coworkers have liquid cooled ones and they are always breaking down with coolant issues, etc. But they last longer if maintained, it is claimed.

UPS Wasn't enough, now I'll never lose camera footage

If you don't mind, what did that cost? I had a few quotes for propane versions last year and they were insane.

How to install Cameras in Vinyl Vented Soffit.

I have this exact type of soffit material. It is not secured at the ends and just floats between some U channel. It's a pain to work with, especially from the attic. For my install, I drilled a 2" hole though it and mounted a pendant mount on a piece of 1x6 that spans the joists. I screwed the...

    360 cameras with dewarped streams?

B&H Photo is the only place I'd order from if I were buying one for home use. They aren an authorized retailer of everything they sell, I believe. I've purchased a number of other things from them and they've always been great.

    360 cameras with dewarped streams?

They are. We get them from ADI since we have a branch that's in that business, but they aren't cheap either way.

    Access 10.x.x.x subnet from 192.x.x.x

That sounds like the NVR isn't routing traffic from the LAN through it to your camera segment.

    360 cameras with dewarped streams?

We use Axis 180 degree ones at work and they do dewarp well.

    IPC-T5442T-ZE missing zoom

Great thanks! I want to use the BI app from the attic to dial everything in since using a web interface from a phone is terrible. I plan to set it and then never adjust it.

Thanks. That did work. Any way to get it working in BI?

    IPC-T5442T-ZE missing zoom

I got an EmpireTech IPC-T5442T-ZE via Amazon from the most recent sale. I'm trying to configure it, but there is no UI for the varifocal / zoom. Trying to zoom in BI also doesn't work. This is right out of the box.

EmpireTech 6 Years Anniversay, New Office New Start

Can you post a link to that PDF or will you do so here when the sale goes live? Speaking of which, I'd like a camera with great low-light sensitivity without IR illumination (since it will be behind a window.) Which model is best for that?

    Feit Doorbell

According to the spec sheet, it can handle up to 122 degrees. That's much better than some others. I have several Feit products and they are all pretty much garbage, however.

    Mounting SD49425XB-HNR

Further, the Hikvision version of the PFA111 is not compatible with the Dahua one. The spacing is different, although you can make it work with some grinding. Best to get a PFA111. A number of mounts on Amazon mention they work with Dahua cameras, but the ones with the solid pin and two screws...

    Mounting SD49425XB-HNR

As a followup and should anyone in the future be curious: I purchased the Dahua PFA111 (Hanging Mount Adapter) and Dahua PFA113 (Metal tube for camera pendant mount 17") and received them today. I should have guessed based on the price of the PFA113 that I was getting more than one, although...

    Mounting SD49425XB-HNR

That's what it looks like, thanks. I'll order it from Amazon and try it out. I already have a mounting plate from a Hikvision bracket. If it works, great, if not I'll order the PFB300C.

    Mounting SD49425XB-HNR

Thanks, but 17" is too tall. Unless I can use it in place of the pole that comes with the PFB300C.
