    UNIFI—The Best Option...?

Check this thread out https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/a-healthy-competitor-g6-pro-turret.84296/ . Even 1/1.2 G6 Pro looks worse then latest Dahua cameras. Ubiquiti UX might be better for some people, but video quality, especially in low light conditions is just bad.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

54PRO is much better than Reolink, trust me... :) It only looks bad when you compare it to 54IR, comparing it to all other cameras on the market is a differnt story. I can definetly say, for example, that 54PRO is much better than G6 Pro Turret.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

Well, I also meant the form factor, 54PRO is bigger then 54IR, and I'm fine with that, but, yeah... :)

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

I think there are use-cases for both of them. I'm currently using 54IR and 54PRO, it really depends on your requirements. Not everyone who is using the cameras report crimes to police. In many cases simple observation and early warning about some movements us more than enough. For example, in...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

BTW, G6 Pro Turret is huge, I think any varifocal 1/1.2 gonna be about the same size, it means it gonna be new mounting design :( TBH, I would rather had 54PRO with 5442-S3 sensor.

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

Dahua cameras are spary painted, G6 Pro covered with camo duct tape. I don't like to have my cameras to be visible too much :)

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

I replied you in that thread because it's defintely not about focal lengths anymore :)

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

    LOL, remember this thread? https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/a-healthy-competitor-g6-pro-turret.84296/

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

I think this is because the sensor is really bad in low/IR light conditions. Once you get your G6 Pro, you will see it yourself.

From Blue Iris to UniFi Protect - the Move Is On!

It's... complicated https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/28315005177239-Protect-AI-Port-FAQs Notice "up to" everywhere :) But, basically, it only supports one 5442 4MP stream. I have one, tested, and can confirm.
  13. M

From Blue Iris to UniFi Protect - the Move Is On!

Nope, it's not full ONVIF support. It only uses ONVIF to get RTSP stream, and that's it. And it only supports 1 "normal" 4MP camera.

From Blue Iris to UniFi Protect - the Move Is On!

Couple of comments: 1. It "just works" until it doesn't. When I'm testing G6 Pro vs S3 I can see how many events Ubiquiti is missing. If you don't have anything to compare with, it all looks really nice and cool, because you just don't know how it should work :) 2. BI is not for average user...

From Blue Iris to UniFi Protect - the Move Is On!

I think the biggest advantage of BI is ability to handle ONVIF camera events. And I don't think Protect will ever implement that.

    AI detecting people vs dogs/foxes

And even more non-helpful response, I'm experimenting with Google Gemini AI, asking it to analize my camera pictures, here is what it said about those two photos: Prompt: Can you see any human or animal on the photo? First photo: "Yes, I can see an animal in the photo. There is a...

    Reducing CPU Usage

I would start with completely disabling BI motion detection (and AI if you have it) just to check if it's affecting CPU usage.

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

Everithing looks correct and the same for all cameras. It's defintely about moving shadows and branches. And as I said, it's usually happening on really windy days, when the patterns are prety chaotic. As far as I understand this the result of using the "small" model, and that's why Dahua trying...

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

In general, I don't have too many false positives, I have ~20 S3s and only maybe 2 or 3 of them, located is most problematic areas, are having these issues. But it's still annoying, that's why I looking for something better :)

Comparing the IL to the S3

This is from PRO, there is no AI-ISP in S3.
  21. M

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

A good example of the false positive scene is sunny and windy day in the forest. Tons of moving shadows, costantly chaging their shapes, sooner or later triggering camera IVS algorithms. And it doesn't matter what I'm looking for, even if it's just a vehicle detection :(
  22. M

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

My money is mainly on S3 at the moment :) Everything else is just a curiosity, tbh. What I really want is S3 with better object detection. It's not bad as it is, but I'm getting some annoying false positives.

Comparing the IL to the S3

Is it possible to disable AI-ISP on IL?
  24. M

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

IL has more RAM, different illuminator, potentially better object detection AI... but, also, notice the quotation marks :)

Comparing the IL to the S3

So, it looks like, on average, IL static handles static scenes better, but S3 works better for moving objects. Can you post settings for both of the cameras? Assuming they have the same sensor(IL and S3), and IL having symptoms similar to PRO, it means that there is some hope for PROs in future...

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

Huh, thanks, I've looked into the specs and 5459-IL really looks like an "improved" variant of 5442-S3. It would be interesting if someone could get an test it :)

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

Technically, you can log in to the camera, but you can only change network config, update firmware, and stuff like that. Nothing related to the video settings. There is very limited number of settings accessible through Protect interface, but nothing comparable to Dahua cameras.

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

But... it's an Ubiquiti device, it should just work, right? Today I've changed config to make the shutter faster, still, the snapshot is not as good as from other two cameras. I think the daytime quality could be improved by firmware updates. But it looks like night time problems is a result...

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

And one more data point, snapshots from the middle of a cloudy day. Notice, that T54PRO-ZE looks a bit better than T54IR-ZE-S3 in this case. T54PRO-ZE T54IR-ZE-S3 And G6 Pro with really good static image, buggy WB, and fuzzy car :(
