    Depends on your budget if you want to add more cameras or replace the NVR. Does another camera work in the same port? If so camera if not NVR. You may want to check ebay for cameras. But start with one to see if it works or overloading NVR.

    Sorry, I thought it was the same camera as I had with a network port, slightly different number. Needs to be connected to the network hard wired to setup then unplugged from network for wifi. It may be time to buy another camera.

    On the right side is the "e" to open the browser settings window. This assumes the camera has been initialized as it will say so on the left side.

    I don't believe you can change the wifi settings via any QC app. You must use a config tool. Change the wifi settings through the browser link in the tool.

    I had one of these. There is no default password. Once one logged into the camera the first time it required you to create one. Now if you reset you will be prompted to initialize and create one. Use config tool which will open the settings in a browser window.

    I have the 16 port version of the NVR and have the same issue on a number of ports. Andy suggested a factory reset of the NVR but haven't tried it yet as everything is working ok.

    Plug it into your wired network, run config tool to get IP and go to that address. You may need to add the port to open the camera config window like 192.168.1.xxx:85 it will bring up the camera settings. Enter your password and go tot settings. The network on the left then wifi

    I know the cameras have a reset button but not the NVRs. I'm not familiar with this line of NVRs or who manufactured it but you may be SOL.

    Probably best to stick with a Dahua (Manufacturer of the NVR) or an Newer Q-See. The Q-sees are cheap now but be prepared to factory reset to use if you buy used.

    No you're not. You can use any IP camera with your NVR. You can view on your PC with Smart PSS, Blue Iris or any number of IP camera viewing software. I was not using QC view to on mine.

    Is this an IP camera? I can't find a manual. Try holding the button for a minute to see if the light changes.

    With power on press and hold the button under the plate for at least 15 seconds until the light changes.

    Yes factory reset so you can re-initialize and change the password. It will most likely change the IP address.

    The Q-See app is gone so you need another. Try DMSS, Tiny cam or just search for an camera viewing app. NOTE: you will not be able to remote view, read the thread. What the app will do is allow you to see your cameras on your phone or ipad. But only at your home on your own network.

    It depends if the cameras were made by Dahua or are ONVIF. What model numbers are your cameras and NVR?

    If you are using a Q-See NVR you cannot see it outside your network. You need to replace with a Dahua since they would be the manufacturer of the Q-See. I had a QC826 and found the exact Dahua model. Unless someone smarter than me (which wouldn't be too hard) found a way to install the Dahua...

    No. You need the IP address and password of the NVR. Press the plus in the upper right, the IP and then add a NVR. Use the config tool to find the IP. The default is 192.168.1.108 unless that port was in use on your system. Download a config tool here: DahuaWiki

    I should also mention that I clone all of my HDs weekly & crashplan/dropbox instantly because it's not if a drive fails but when. No matter the type.

    SSDs are faster but have a shorter life or limited writes. Although I use SSDs in my PC for active drives, I use platter HDs for storage, NAS etc. As said above Purple is best but Red will work also for constant writes.
