    Deer season 2025

Brought in another one this afternoon. In southern Michigan this would be considered a somewhat “large” doe:

    Deer season 2025

Very interesting. Our bucks in southern Michigan are much more stout compared to what I am seeing in your pictures. Also the antler development that we see here is much more stout and stubby. A buck with antler length comparable to what you have shared with us would have many more points here.

@tigerwillow1 That is a big rack! We don’t see them like that in Michigan.

    Deer season 2025

Ended up taking what I thought was a doe today. Turned out to be a button buck. Should be a good eater tho!
  7. Jimmyjames

    Oh man

I don’t go to Hooters to eat either. I go for the outstanding service and the warm inviting atmosphere.

    Oh man

Have you tried Indian ice cream though? It looks very promising …..

    Deer season 2025

We received our first snow on Sunday. Since then I’ve seen a big increase in activity. I’ve noticed the doe behavior becoming more skittish.

    Deer season 2025

Looks like another 6 pointer walking in. Ran off the coon and the doe… Regular firearm starts on Saturday here. Can’t wait!

Do you use a patch panel?

Sometimes yes sometimes no. For appearance cable management bars can also be utilized:

Do you use a patch panel?

I put in a keystone jack patch panel at one of my facilities. It supports a separate network that segments the atmospheric controllers from the cameras. It probably wasn’t necessary but I didn’t want the setup to look sloppy. More connections equal more potential failure points. I haven’t had...

Hik-Connect web client not loading NVR

The router for the NVR that is accessible remotely has had no configurations made for port forwarding. It just worked without any further configuration that I know of. (TP Link Archer A6) Great instincts! I just checked the settings and UPnP is on for the router as well as the properly...

Hik-Connect web client not loading NVR

I am no expert on the correct terminology here. But just to be clear...... I am having no problems accessing the NVR through my PC locally (over the local wifi network). Only when offsite through the HikConnect website.

Hik-Connect web client not loading NVR

John, Thanks for the reply. My terminology may be incorrect. When I refer to "virtual host" I am referring to accessing the NVR with a PC through the network without plugging in directly to the NVR, mostly locally, but also through the cloud via the "NVR web GUI" as you put it. I sometimes...

Hik-Connect web client not loading NVR

Good evening gentlemen, I recently became the admin for another location and it's camera/ security systems. The company that did the original install did a pretty solid job. I've inherited a full Hikvision camera system: 26 total cams, fed into 2 Hikvison unmanaged POE switches, supported by a...

    Deer season 2025

Regular firearm doesn’t start here until the 15th. I’ve still got a little bit of trimming to do to open up my planned shooting lanes. Looks like the same 8 pointer from last night is back:

    Deer season 2025

I wish I could afford a nice thermal scope. Unfortunately that’s a quite a bit beyond my price budget at this point. Currently running a Ruger 350 Legend, suppressed with Hornady 250 grain subsonic rounds. Threw a relatively cheap Sig Buckmaster scope on it and it does the job quite well without...

    Deer season 2025

There’s been a big boy that has rolled through twice over the past several weeks. Serious rack. Probably 12-14 points. I watched him walk another smaller buck off the the corn pile. He’ll be back.

    Deer season 2025

Greetings gents! Last year i put a few zumimall wifi cams out in the field. I basically hunted from my kitchen. I would watch the cams while enjoying chili and hard ciders, then roll out carefully and take my shot at the deer of my choice. My plan worked perfectly. I Brought home 3 last season...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

So I went inside the 3rd NVR today (the one that had been pulled from service). It was a 16 port model (the other 2 are 24 port models) Inside was a single WD 2TB HDD. I would be shocked if the other 2 operating NVR’s have more than one drive installed. The original installer has proven...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

@Holbs Good to hear you recommend the WD purple’s. I just put one in at my buddy’s place. I know that all of the interior cameras (DS-2CD2347G2-LU) have motion activated recording. The exterior cams have this feature as well. As far as any advanced AI features I am not sure. This system was...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

@Holbs @Flintstone61 Thank you both for your advice here. I really appreciate you guys. I talked to my rep at LTS today. He quoted me for an LTN8964-RN 64 channel, and 3 LTPOE-SW2403C switches. I’m unclear on whether or not this includes any HDD’s. I’m assuming it does not. Sitting at right...

Replace several NVRs with one NVR?

@Holbs Thank you very much for your reply. We do exist in a highly regulated industry, at the state level. General requirements are 30 days of stored video footage, and very thorough coverage of the facility. Aside from that we do not face any other compliance issues concerning cameras. They...
