Yes, 7.5 to 13mm is not an ideal range, I suspect these would get mounted 16 feet up on the roofline looking down and out but even then still quite a narrow field of view. I guess the old for £100 vs £300 for the latest model was and is tempting. Some more research required I guess. -

Oh my god, sorry, I am shocked, always thought if someone on here said they had 25 or maybe even 30 cameras I would not be that shocked. But 64 and now 75, no way, I feel almost average with just 12 active, no doubt this number will grow to 16+ now the thermal box has been ticked! Amazing...- CamCrazy

Indeed, I think shall probably pickup a 13mm and a 7.5mm, see how they work out for me, for an average of £120 each they can't be bad. Maybe make more sense to get the DH-TPC-BF5421-T in 13mm, assuming it is the newer and better camera, when compared to the BF2221-HTM I have a couple of spots... -

Ah well, only those two I can find which I guess would work for sampling thermal imaging, they are in the £120-150 range on ebay. Can probably work with 13mm but 7.5mm or wider would be more ideal. -

Ok, I can only find the DH-TPC-BF5421-T which is 13mm available for good deal, also plenty of DH-TPC BF2221-HTM 7.5mm models for slightly more money. Guess this is about the only option unless going with new 4mp model. I could live with 13mm for some testing, how do you find these? I have got... -

We can only hope for some good things to come from the firmware, otherwise mine will be relegated to non critical areas that are short range. Disappointed with these (ZE variant) at the moment as you can probably tell, especially having poured hours into testing and setup. I have two installed... -

Well said no doubt. I have certainly never experienced another like this, lets face it, if we can't tune this thing then what chance does a 'normal' consumer have! Frankly if they don't do something drastic with the firmware to pull this thing around, then it won't end very well. My frustration... -

Genuine question, highlighted by these newer cameras (maybe), is there really any advantage from having NR turned on. Other than it looking 'nicer' on the live feed, is it potentially better to set it off or very low, then tune the gain and shutter to suit. If you have it on then motion and... -

Indeed, I would take that along with many others no doubt. It might be OK once they 'perfect' it but until that time, best to leave it as an option. Ship them out with best settings for capturing the bad guys. -

Sometimes the need is perceived as the want. You could always suggest the Touring, just explain you decided to settle for the basic model without the wing :cool::p -

What shutter speed are most running on these in medium to poor lighting? I've been on 2 or 3ms but on closer inspection think I need to drop it lower, like below 1.5ms. Is it compulsory to own one of these thermal cameras now :wow::clap: ... it would be useful for critter spotting, so surely a worthwhile investment. Wonder if Dahua/Andy will be selling a selection box for Christmas :facepalm::lol:
