Forgot Hikvision NVR pass, but have Config file
Thanks for your replies alastairstevenson. I got a updated XML file back from Hikvision. Run it through SADP, changed password, refreshed SADP, and all good to go. ! Now looking at upgrading firmware, so I can have the question/answer format in case I forget password !- geek7899

Hi Thanks for your reply. It’s not the cam, but NVR password that I am talking about. I grabbed the NVR configuration file from iVMS-4200. It was a zip file and when I unzipped it, it further contained many files. Here is a screenshot of all files.- geek7899

I checked it after reading your message and it was Purple (Other). I then went into Edit > All Day > Motion Detection. Then I clicked Copy to Week > Select All. Then OK, then Save. Now it is Green (Motion Detection). Walked into its FoV. Still no record file :( -

I thought they had the same settings. But on a closer look, I found that under ""Linkage Method", Trigger Channel wasn't ticked. I ticked it and walked into the motion detection area. It still didn't record any file. Other than that all settings were similar. -

OMG !! It appears that it is now working !!!!! I had disabled uPnP and it started working. I then enabled uPnP again and it still was working. What the !! Can anyone tell me why it is defaulting to port 30208 for HTTP external in screenshot attached ? It just picks a random available port... -

I mostly use the web GUI interface for NVR/cams rather than iVMS-4200 because the video doesnt display properly in iVMS. See screenshot - the image is not fully filling up the frame, if you understand what I mean. -

Gmail has issues with non-secure app You need to go into your account settings for that gmail account and enable access for less secure apps. You dont need to know Chinese. The Chinese firmware cameras are 'hacked' to be multi-language and English is one of the languages. I am using 8 of them with no problem. Just be careful not to update firmware otherwise it will revert back to Chinese language firmware. I am talking about 3MP IP...
