Just got 2 cams from Andy.. cant find playback menu in IE

You don't need motion alerts plus tripwire. Motion detects motion .... it's prone to false alerts from swaying bushes / trees ie wind, heavy rain, snow, moving shadows, insects, birds etc. Tripwires on the other hand will only activate if something crosses a wire in the direction specified by...

How to move Blue Iris to a new PC?

PC cloning / backup software is 1 option where you can just clone your existing machine to the ewn hardware. Has to be an App that supports hardware independent installation though as you can't clone to new hardare using Apps that don't. You also need to want to back up your pc's anyway...

New plates coming to Indiana. Thoughts?

Ours pick you up for altering the spacing or using a different font, with up to a 1k fine. Depends on the force but more and more are doing it. They seem to ignore crime and go after motorists instead for every little infraction. You can barely move for speed cameras now with many being average...

New plates coming to Indiana. Thoughts?

UK has compulsory yellow on black (rear) and black on white (front). As most govn spped etc cameras work on the rear view, i seems they decided black on yellow was the best combo. Our rules are really strict though for lettering font, spacing, size, material, refelctivity etc. example UK...

Trouble Accessing Cams via Web Interface

I had issues like this a while ago after one of my cameras had gone offline and I reset it. I had to resort to connecting it direct to a laptop. I can't remember exactly how I solved it now, apart from multiple resets, but it was to do with a network address issue. Before I managed to contact...

Is ChatGPT right about IP camera settings?

Trouble with AI is in google's version at least, and in my experience on my phone, it just regurgitates the marketing blurb found on the manufacturers website. The links at the end of the text. So you're getting nothing more than an advert.

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

Ah Ok. Though that was their picture but it's early. If it's working how you need it to then that's fine. My experience of trips is they're the best but placement can be crucial as you're trying to draw a 2d line in a 3d scene and objects can pass behind if you're not careful.

Do tripwires work at night with IR illumination?

The trip wires are in the foreground and people / objects are passing behind not through them. The clue here is look at the wires in relation to the tree trunks. You need to think 3 dimensionally. Where is it you want them to be tripped? If someone passes through the trees? Walks down the...

    REVIEW: HIKVISION DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL

Don't know I don't have one. However, it sounds like you may have a Chinese version with forced English firmware. I'm afraid there's no way to update it if that's the case.

    REVIEW: HIKVISION DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL

Did you buy it cheap from an overseas site? Sounds like you got a foreign language version that's has custom adapted English firmware forced onto it. It's probably been upgrade locked because if you try to upgrade the firmware it will brick the camera.

Camera thinks telephone pole is human

One solution without retraining the AI would be to simply use a privacy mask and mask the pole. It's a pole so a black rectangle is no different. You might even be able to get away with masking within the pole depending on low large it is in the picture, so a little bit of pole can be seen each...

    2nd Amendment thread

The irony is the uk announced it this week. You''re still going to need a licence to own a supressor in the UK, but previously they had to be registered by serial number like guns and had to be transferred with paperwork if sold enabling the authorities to keep a track of them, but now they can...

Looking for low-light camera recommendation to use as navigation aid on a boat

My only observations as feedback for Boateye, is maybe it would benefit from software image stabilisation to remove / minimise the boat sway & maybe progressive video instead of interlaced to reduce the issues with the railings producing a jagged, moire effect (I'm presuming it's interlacing...

Moving to a new PC , my need some help.

Not cheap but I can highly recommend Arceserve Shadow Protect for backups and transferring between PC's. It can make an exact mirror of your PC and do a hardware independent update, so you can change hardware components that are tied to Windows such as CPU or motherboard, and it won't blink...

Not quite 2nd amendment so hope you guys don't mind me posting this here, (it seemed to be the self defence thread), but justice was served in the UK the other day by a YT's professional bodyguard, albeit reasonable force style with a slap and kick (a full 1hr video which includes the earlier...

    Dahua WizColor COMING SOON!

Is there a mic built in internally on this series and a speaker? One of the big issues I've found is the internal mic's can be poor and trying to find a cheap external weatherproof speaker is like hens teeth. This is one are Dahua could really improve on. The CCTV speakers tend to be very...

That is new. It's seems obviously a commercial deal with Klite. I personally wouldn't want it installed. Web search results: https://blog.oudel.com/exploring-infatica-p2b-network-windows-11/ https://infatica.io Thnaks for bringing this to everyone's intention.

Have you asked the authors why it installs this if it has legitimate uses? It maybe for their update service or some other reason eg usage data. I have Klite on my system and malwarebytes and it doesn't detect infactia on my system albeit my klite is an older version.

    IPC-HDW2439TP-AS-LED-S2 WDR? How?

I've personally never found a shutter much slower than 1/250th ie 4ms combined with a gain of 50 of much use with full colour at night as it doesn't take much movement to induce blur. If you can manage 4ms, that's my recommendation as every step slower will increase the risk of blur. Your...

Moving to new house. What are your latest recommendations for cameras, POE switches, etc?

Or ask yourself if the tree area is critical. If you have another camera mounted low down that covers the approach from the tree, it may not be so vital to cover that small proportion anyway, Another approach maybe to mount the ptz low down on the corner of the house so it sees below it. People...
