Just wanted to add, a good way to test you settings is navigate to the camera's update settings via the webpage and try using search for updates under manual update, If the settings are correct, the update request will time out.- CCTVCam

Just be aware on varifocals it's there purely to zoom and set permanently once you find the best view for you location. It's not a zoom lens to be used for zooming in and out on people, and frequent use may cause failure. -

There's too much gain in that picture. You can see from the lack of definition in the faces and the noise. So probable best setting for good facial capture would be a lot darker which then brings it's own issues. It probably does the job as you could probably identify them from that picture, but... -

Maybe one way around this would be for CHina to offer the extra features as a firmware update thus putting reponsibility for the face recognition on the end user. I'm not noticing it either. Typically increased noise would be seen in the dark areas such as the black paving slabs, black cars, dark doorways. They all look pretty much the same to me. Notifications are irrelevent. That's just what you set it to tell you. If you set it to trigger recording on motion, it will trigger recording on motion. If you're recording to an SD card which has limited memory, then it will over write anything already there. So that burglar it records when... -

Warning you will get a lot of false alerts using both motion and tripwires so expect to spend a lot of time watching trees, insects, snowflakes etc. Most of us here use Tripwires + AI to cut the false alerts even further. -
