Yea, I think there was a regression with LED light behavior with 1028FW ... and Andy has a 1031FW (which is 10/15 from Dahua) which I think addresses this ... but pretty sure it doesn't include the image improvements ... which I like. LOL a bit confusing ... hopefully there is a roll-up release... -

Would recommend you try the 1022 or 1028 (but not 1031) releases from @EMPIRETECANDY as there are some image processing tweaks I like. Fog is tough ... and in low-light, the processing algorithms are getting totally confused by it so yea, that's a big mess. -

THIS is something I've wondered about. I.e. what matters it the SIZE of the pixels. So if one 1/2.8" sensor has 5MP and another (same size) 1/2.8" sensor has 2MP, then the pixel size of the 2MP sensor is BIGGER and (assuming similar technology/etc.), you'd expect the 2MP to do better (at least... -

I tried the 10/31 (aka 10/15) release and pretty sure that it does NOT include the image improvements as seen in the 10/22 & 10/28 releases - mostly just LED light improvements. I went back to the 10/28 release. -

It appears to be doing a really good job with a broad dynamic range. You might consider the newer firmware as it seemed to do better with highlights/shadows ... plus I found HLC=1 seemed to make a difference. P.S. You've got some good coverage ... and appreciate the comedy with "guitar-man" ;-) -

It wasn't clear @Sixto what your settings were for the first testing ... so I'm just suggesting you "push" the camera to see if it's even a possible (at full iris and "reasonable" gain) to get up the shutter speed up to a reasonable value to capture motion - probably at least 1/50s. If so... -

So I decided to push my FW0827 camera to 1022 (would have gone directly to 1028 since that is running great ... but this way I can compare those two) ... and took a snapshot just before/after the upgrade ... so while the sun moved a bit, that's about as close of a direct comparison as I can do. -

Yes, the "dimpling" in the driveway is REAL ... ditto the "speckling" in the road. This is an area where the image processing of the T54PRO seems to "smear" it more than the 5442-S3 ... BUT ... I really need to do a comparison with the latest T54 firmware ... probably in a couple of weeks when... -

Yea, I think it looks a bit HDR'ish because there's a LOT of dynamic range ... plus as I'm sure you know from photography @CamCrazy, sharpness is really tricky on foliage because it can "overprocess it" Image below is with the sharpness turned down from 75 to the (default) 50. -

Yea, I noticed that also @CamCrazy and was like WTF is going on?!? Sharpening is just about the LAST thing I do when processing images ... but maybe that's not the case here and when you enable sharpening, it reduce the noise reduction (even though I have this turned totally off) that is... -

Yea, the picture above with Sharpening=ZERO is with ZERO gain and ZERO NR. If I pull that into Photoshop, "Smart Sharpen" cleans it up quite a bit ... but I was pretty surprised how blurry that looked ... so that's why I wonder if that's the "raw" image (as much as you can get an unprocessed... -

I think part of what you are seeing in sharpness in those two areas (especially the fir tree on the right) is the slight difference in angle. When I first got the T54PRO-ZE, I had it mounted in the lower spot below the 5442-S3 ... and saw difference like that. But when I moved it to the higher... -

Here's a high Noon comparison of 0827 versus 1022 ... similar observations as before. At this point, I would be comfortable (and WANT!) to push FW1022 ... but I'll hold off for a bit longer in case anyone has any specific comparisons they'd like me to do. -

Here's some morning pictures comparing the 0827 and 1022 firmware. Settings are identical at 5msc shutter, 100 iris, 0 gain, ZERO NR, Auto WB. Note there is a little more "speckling/dimpling" in the street/driveway with the 1022 firmware (bit more smearing in the 0827) ... which is "good"...
