Great thread @steve1225 ... one can hope we'll see those larger (and better) sensor soon. That dashcam videos were impressive (albeit looks like some NR smearing in the shadows) ... and are NOT a thousand dollars ... so how come they are able to already have STARVIS2 sensors? I.e. Any insights... -

I've seen the AXIS and yes, they are pricey ... but their camera's are in general. I'm just surprised that after 8 years, a similar capability camera has only come down from $5,000 to $2,000 ... and note the Axis is not even a full-frame sensor. Although I'm guessing with technology... -

Yes, unfair comparison between a camera with a a full-frame sensor (with presumably large aperture lens) that cost $5,000 against a $200 consumer cam with a 1/1.8" (or even 1/1.2") sensor. HOWEVER, as @CCTVCam points out, that was using 2016 technology. While the image looking a bit smeared... -

Minor Bug: Encode->Overlay->Channel Title is NOT enabled, but text shows up on snapshots (not on video as it should)

API Snapshot quality is MUCH worse than Web Snapshots - blocky artifacts in shadows plus overall lightening

FYI FWIW that I tried various combination on a camera that had been up for a long time and the "pulsing" seems to be timed with the I-Frame Interval ... i.e. if I changed that, the pulsing rate changed. It's a fairly "busy" scene with lots of foliage and the encode settings are H.264H, AI... -

I've got a IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 running the very latest software ... although I believe it may have been in the previous version as I looked at snapshots from before the recent upgrade. Encode->Overlay->Channel Title is NOT enabled ... but the default value of "IPC" was still there for Input Text... -

I went ahead and applied the firmware from @EMPIRETECANDY's site. Remember there are two .bin files to apply (in order - they are labeled as such) as all went uneventful and camera seems to be working fine. FYI that after the first .bin file, the (new) Maintenance Center has a Red "1" (number)... -

Ditto what @samplenhold said that you can try putting the cam close to the glass and "cover the surrounding area" with black fabric to block interior light/reflections - I'm sure a lot easier with a bullet versus a dome. As it sounds like you know/done, this is a common photography trick when... -

I just realized that the "test" Firmware I installed on June 7th changed the "Encoding Strategy" from "Smart Codec" to "AI Coding" ... and there is NOT an option to have "Smart Codec" I compared to another camera that did NOT have that installed and the "Compression/etc." is the same ... but... -

Roger on the reduced DOF @CCTVCam ... and I certainly do NOT expect a sharp image from a foot away to infinity when zoomed in with large sensor/aperture since that ... violates the laws of optics! ;-) But if you are on the wide-end of the focal length, do you think reasonable focus/sharpness... -

Note specs says F/1.0 lens ... easier to do if fixed focal length. It's a logical response to Hikvision. I'm holding out for the varifocal F/1.0 lens with 1/1.2" (latest technology) sensor - aka the "light sucking monster" ;-) -

How to remove web pop out ?
I get the same popup using Edge ... but I can do almost everything without it ... so kinda annoying. It would be nice if a future camera software release provided an option to NOT cause this to happen. -
