    Hi guys Question about setting up audio in and out for Dahua compatiable cameras. Do you need to plug in an audio cable from the camera to the nvr for this to work? Or can the audio in/out function be used solely from plugging in the cat6 cable. Currently I've plugged it in via cat6 cable only...

    nah i don't think it works because you'd need to trigger mirror on the sending device. dun think nvr has that capability like a PC/mobile...and compatibility as well.

    I've hooked my NVR up for testing purpose up to a monitor via the back of the NVR's HDMI out. It shows you a split screen of all cameras. You can use a mouse to right click and it'll bring you to the menu options. So essentially it will be the same if you hook the nvr via HDMI up to your TV...

    Do you think IPC-HFW1831E could be a justifiable camera for low light and clarity for the day. 8mp with 1/1.8" sensor. Probably better than the 2831 I was looking at earlier. That one has 8mp with 1/2.7" sensor.

    hey @mat200 What cameras do you run yourself? What would you recommend for lessor important areas of the house like the backyard/side alley. Though they are dark as well but not so concerned. Do you have any economical models you can recommend?

    Hi @mat200 Unfortunately the IPC-HDW2831TMP-AS wasn't on the IPVM calculator. Instead I used the DH-IPC-HDW4831EM-ASE to test the megapixel vs the IPC-HDW5442TMP-AS. The longest range to identify plates is 11 metres. or roughly 35 feet if you like, I was looking at the sample pic of the guy...

    They're essentially the same thing except your's is the chinese version which can't be upgraded I'm expecting to use 2.8mm wide to cover the big rooms within the house and I chose the 4mp version mainly for the night time lux performance

    Much appreciated. A 2nd pair of eyes is always best otherwise I would have ordered the wrong one Managed to find size comparison of the turret to the mini but can't find one yet to the bullet.

    I haven't looked much into the mini dome as everyone was talking about either the turret or bullet for the 4mp hikvisions. Mini dome seems less intrusive but value for money, it doesn't seem like many suppliers out there can do a price close to what I've managed to find. Yeh that's my concern...
