New hikvision nvr won't boot
Download the SADP tool from the Hikvision website. Make sure your pc is on the same network. If nothing appears then its probably dead. You can even hardwire yourself into the NVR and see if the SADP tool picks up anything. -

Hikvision Cameras on Dahua NVR with user defined Camera Names
ONVIF is like a compatibility protocol between different brands and the way it's implemented is different between manufactures, onvif versions and models of cameras. I would neve expect it to be as good as using the same brand NVR with the same brand cameras, functionality is always limited...- Carcus

DS-7604NI-SE/P - UPnP Ports not valid
uPNP doesn't always work I would just manually port forward 8000 to the ip address of the NVR. The routers DDNS service might be more user friendly also than using the built in DDNS on the NVR. Probably worth an upgrade to a newer NVR that supports Hik-connect however as iVMS-4500 support has... -

Well they broke it, I mean really broke it with 1.96.001 where it had permission errors on playback, then they fixed it with 1.96.002 but a few days later playback would just hang. Seems to have bee resolved in the last 24 hours though. I'd say the latest "outage" was more on the server side. -

I am having this issue. I had the same issue setting up a clients phone the other day for the first time. Multiple reviews on the app store indicate the same issue. My solution was to roll the app back to 1.95. -

Update to this tried with a K2 and the images worked with the 2385 so must be a K1/Firmware issue. -

Hikvision DVR - Remote playback with speed adjustment
You need to port forward 8000 then in the Hik-connect app in the device settings enter the NVR login credentials. That's the way I managed to get fast forward working so it's basically like Hik-connect is being used as a ddns service. Makes the app much more responsive as well. -

Hi All, As the title suggests when I receive motion alerts to the Hik-connect app I don't get an image with newer cameras. Much older dome 3mp have no issue. Using 7608ni-k1 and 2385 turret. Not sure the model of the older cams. Any ideas? Thanks:) -

yes this is an issue we experience from time to time. the rear port seems to be more reliable. Usually only a reboot fixes it. -

You are right the only way to do it is with the cloud service. Manually adding doesn't work as far as I can see. -

Some of the newer NVR and Camera firmware support no plugin web use but I think it's only on 5/7 Series IPC: Firmware V5.5.5 and I Series NVR: Firmware V4.1.50 When I was using Linux I just had a Windows VM? -

I have a 2385 and have a few at clients homes and they are amazing. Far better than the 4mp. Even at night. Here is me doing a test at night. Remember to up the res to UHD. -

RBW I would try and purchase the 7608NI-I2 model as it supports up to 12mp and in my experience its more solid than the E2. I find sometimes I have to change a few image settings on the cameras to get the live view working via the app with the E2 model. And if you are going to spend the money...
