Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

no, i don't. I was just running the precompiled binary. I'll have to prepare a test environment to build in.

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

No worries, I'll try to sort it out. The camera info from the previous install is getting left behind somewhere. Just need to find it for a clean install. Right now I can't redo the setup because the app crashes when I get to the camera setup page (even after uninstalling and rebooting) I've...

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

This is great, thanks for adding MQTT! Unfortunately, installing the update broke my install. It looks like the cameras aren't found anymore which is crashing the app. Here's what happened. Closed onguard. Ran a dirty update over the original install by running new setup.exe Saw MQTT settings...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

If that's the case, the short answer is no. The long answer is anything is possible but you may have to invest quite a bit of time into building that works reliably for you (I use relays to trigger a chime in my home automation setup). Just as a matter of keeping things simple, I don't...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Sorry, don't understand your question. You're thinking of having blue iris play a chime notification? Where? On desktop or mobile client?

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Correct, H265 is supported which should mean better compression. However, I did not have a chance to use and test is since my own BI setup is not currently handling H265 videos correctly.

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

Good questions and points. Ultimately, my goal is to find a reliable way to use face detection to do more advanced automations such as setting home occupancy, recording when unknown people/vehicles come by, or managing locks. That's more a long term item though, so yes, you're right, in my own...

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

On a high level, I use MQTT as a universal bus to communicate between platforms. In practice, that means I connect my home automation server to send updates to devices including cameras, switches, wall mounted tablets, etc and vice versa (i.e. if a tablet detect motion, send activity to home...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Glad to hear it. I tried something similar (AI based auto unlock) about 2 years ago, but it wasn't reliable enough for something as important as a door lock. Would be interested in hearing your results. Good luck!

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I don't use HA, but you can try ONVIF to get the motion event out. I think there is also an MQTT to ONVIF bridge somewhere. You could try using dewarp filters in ffmpeg, but I suspect it would be too slow for facial recognition on a door lock. Otherwise you might want to mask out the capture to...

Oh, awesome! Your FCC-fu is much better than mine. Good find on the firmware too! Was wondering about ways to preserve them. Did you guess the path? The directory isn't openly listing

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

No connectivity issues for me, but our place has a mesh network which comprehensively covers the property. One access point is 10ft away, ceiling mounted. Uptime has been 100% That said, I don't have much info on wifi performance aside from RSSI measured off my access points (it was about the...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I forgot to mention: some people probably want to know about alexa and Google connectivity. I didn't have a chance to check that, but I did notice the DB1C showed up in my list of devices in the alexa app.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I suppose it comes down to several factors (compatibility with your existing setup, viewing angles, etc): For me personally, it would come down to if I needed ONVIF or not. If I know for sure I don't care about ONVIF, I'd get the new one. In fact, even if I already have one, it's affordable...

Thanks to @Tiffytaffy and @andreq i got off my butt and picked up a DB1C. Comparison updated to add DB1C to the charts and review link.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't clear. The leaf blower video is definitely a poor example for sound quality. I didn't mention this in the review, but after using the DB1C for a few days, it SEEMS the mic picks up more sound compared to the old model. Just wish I had a way to measure that

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Oops! My mistake. Forgot to turn on sound on the export. Video re-uploaded. Thanks for catching that. I don't have a way to objectively measure this, but it appears to me the new doorbell picks up more sound.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

The EZVIZ DB1 (and its variants) has been the doorbell of choice for most IP cam enthusiasts in the last few years owing to its quality, reasonable price, local streaming connectivity, flexibility, community support, and overall value. Two years after the introduction of the DB1, EZVIZ is first...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So far, it seems to play nicely with BI, at least just as well as the original model. I plan to publish the full review in a few days after collecting more test data

Yeah, I have the same issue. I think some units have poorer QC. The new version, DB1C which I'm reviewing right now has much clearer picture quality.

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

That would be great, thanks! Yes, I think this would be a good start. This would already cover my own use case, and I believe it should cover 80% of users. The only thing I would MAYBE add is to also send the binary data (the image file)? I don't use that at the moment, and I wouldn't want it if...

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense to me :) Yes, email works. In my specific case, mqtt opens up a whole range of possibilities for further integration, but URLs are a good workaround for now. Just thought of one more: Add ability to identify negative activity (i.e. turn off a home automation...

Shed Interior Temp to Blue Iris Overlay!

Nicely done. You can do the same thing with your other home assistant items (heater on/off, door open/closed status, alarm status, etc) I've been using bi macros for this very same purpose on a different home automation platform.

    UI3 Tablet Recommendations

Here's something I'm running. UI3 is part of it, but it's not strictly for monitoring BI. I have several of these around the house. The hardware is all based on cheap fireHDs rooted, but running the stock OS. Here's a quick summary of what they do: The tablets wake hands-free when someone is...
