Stack video frames to enhance face and catch Truck Thief?

That also looks weird because my front plates were all bent up. Here's my first natural night-time entry, at a normal angle: Maybe I have the focus point correct, where the cars need to complete their turn before running into the curb that runs parallel to the driveway. If I focus further out...

Stack video frames to enhance face and catch Truck Thief?

Good news! After I got all the wireless bridges configured and tested in my kitchen, I rigged everything up with a tripod, jumpstarter, and an inverter for a real-world test in front of 301: The tenant in 301 came out, and we talked, and he's actually negotiating with the landlord to move his...

Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

True, but that's not the same thing as a true, standardized benchmark. I did email Ken, and he replied that this type of scriptability would be "frosting," and he's currently working on the cake. I told him we all want the cake! and that I'd ping him again after 6.0.1 is released.

Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

I just ordered this, because I have a need for another low-end machine at work anyway, so I'm going to replace the i7-6700 box with this new-to-me i7-12700 box, and the i7-6700 will get handed down to the non-demanding application.

Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

That's interesting, but it's really noisy data. Here's a sort of records with my CPU model, between 450 - 600 MP/s, which is what my BI reports: BI CPU utilization varies from 11% - 63%. Even if we remove those two suspect min/max numbers, there's still a range from 16% - 35%. Most are with...

Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

That would be interesting to review, but everyone's cameras and configurations are different, so it's really hard to know what's apples to apples. A standard, scripted benchmark would ensure that we're comparing like for like. But it would depend on how scriptable BI is. Maybe I'll ask Ken.

Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

Interesting! Searching Amazon for "renewed PC i7-12700" reveals this Lenovo Thinkcentre Neo 50S G4 SFF PC Core i7-12700 16GB RAM 256GB SSD W11P (Renewed) for $355 after coupon. I don't need internal storage, since all my video is stored on an external box, so the only thing I even might need...

My New Roof, in 2 Minutes!

Camera: Amcrest IP5M-T1277EW-AI, 5 MP (2960 × 1668) First 1/2 of video recorded continuously in Blue Iris 5.9.9.14, then decimated to 1 frame per minute and re-encoded to 30 fps in ffmpeg. Second 1/2 of video recorded 1 frame per minute through cron/curl "$IPAddress/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi" and...

Upgrading my machine - P cores and E cores?

I'm still running an ancient i7-6700 in a renewed Optiplex 7040. With 28 cameras (on sub streams! ) plus a Wyze Docker Bridge VM, it idles at ~50%, but often redlines when I scrub through footage. What would be a reasonable upgrade amongst renewed PCs with Win11 Pro for less than $500? I...

    Who's ARPing my Camera?

I strongly prefer DHCP reservations for just about anything other than a router or domain controller or other core infrastructure. Reservations allow me to: Preconfigure my DHCP server based on the MAC address on the product box, so it comes up from first power-up with a known address that I...

    Who's ARPing my Camera?

I haven't seen the problem since, so I'm checking that box for all of my cameras, now!!

    BIG Owl on my Trail

Coyote With Injured Front Paw, 12/20/24 It's been 5 weeks since this injured coyote initially crossed my cameras, and for the first time s/he seems to be putting a little bit of weight on it. I cut ~30 seconds of dead time between the two animals, but these two are definitely traveling...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

So, just for fun, I did get the 2nd bridge up and running, with the camera in the upper-right powered via the POE Pass-through. So yes, this configuration works, even though I will most probably not use it this way: I think the bridge are happier with greater distance, as currently this is...

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

If I do that, and then repair the database, will all my old Alerts still be there?

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

Performance will not be a problem. I have only 15 cameras that push less than 10 MB/sec to the server: The Synology will read/write >>> 80 MBps, sustained:

Use Mapped Drive as V:\ instead of \\ServerName\Share?

I currently have a single internal HDD inside my Optiplex as the V:\ drive, e.g. for Video, so BI stores everything at V:\BlueIris\New\, V:\BlueIris\Stored\, etc. I just bought a 4-bay Synology DS423 and set up a Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) volume with three 8 TB spinners to give me 16 TB of...

    Blue Iris 6.0 coming?

From the notification email: Emphasis mine. Kudos to BI for this policy. So many other companies use a major version as an excuse to charge extra.

    Power Diode Bypass on IP5M-T1277EW-AI?

The issue with this application is that it's almost 150' from that POE+ switch to the cameras, and I pulled the two strings of outdoor Cat5e thinking that I'd never need more than 2, so it's screw-clipped to the underside of a fence rail for about 100' of that distance, e.g. no easy way to pull...
