My PTZ camera has the option to get a return-to-home timer in the camera's internal settings. You could try the "On reset" from the triggering camera is shown with the "On Alert"

Make spotter cam move to PTZ preset ONLY IF and when....

My Side Driveway cam sends the alert to my BY_PTZ when the AI detects a person.

Make spotter cam move to PTZ preset ONLY IF and when....

I have mine set up to move the camera from the alert tab and not the trigger tab. It is done from the triggering camera settings, not the PTZ camera setting. That way on AI confirmed alerts trigger the PTZ to move. If you need more help let me know and I can post screenshots.

AMD cpus recommended for Blue Iris machine

Are you utilizing substreams? What is the resolution and FPS of the cameras? Are you direct to disk? Saying you are using Ryzen is great, but we need more details in order to truly understand BI performance on Ryzen.

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

Can you access other services and computers while connected to the VPN? Have you tried to ping the PC from your phone with the VPN connected? I have OpenVPN set to just run everything on my phone through the VPN. If you edit the VPN Config (the pencil icon next to the Profile), go to routing...

Blue Iris App vs Remote VPN

Use both. VPN into the network then use the phone app to access BI. This increases network security by reducing holes in your network. You aren't relying on port forwarding and the BI webserver for security, but the VPN software. Not knocking Ken, but a lot more security focused eyes are on the...

New Blue Iris Trigger Option Debate

I would just like to add that, while the Deepstacks AI is miles ahead of your basic motion detection set-up it is not infallible and can absolutely miss events. 24/7 recording is still recommended vs motion (or AI) based recording. I don't think that is going to change for a long time. AI will...

Looking for automation around temperature monitoring

ESPhome on arduinos dumping into home assistant is a super easy way to get something up and running. Hardest part for me was finding a good guide to walk a noob through putting the ESPhome package on the nodemcu's.

As opposed to sitting on the curb drinking a beer? I really don't see how one is much worse than the other.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

That's not true at all. It just means there was nothing in the image that falls within the detection criteria for that camera. The whole point of the AI Tools/Deep Stack setup is to take away the alert decision from BI. For that to happen you need to make sure AI Tools/Deep Stack doesn't miss...

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Edit: I see in #501 and #502 discussions about the changes to urls. Is that what's breaking the program> Did the latest update of BI change something in the URL triggering? I started getting this message after updating BlueIris to 5.2.9.2. [28.05.2020, 12:17:24.308]: ERROR: Could not trigger...

Use a non-standard port like 82 or something. I have found using port 80 can cause weird conflicts since that the normal web server port.

Welp @GentlePumpkin I broke something and I cannot figure out what the deal is. A few days ago I started getting sporadic error messages in telegram, but most images came through just fine. ERROR: Processing the following image 'C:\BlueIris\AI_Input/AiFP.20200221_180930905.jpg' failed. Can't...

Acquired a i7 usff optiplex. No 3.5" bay. USB to external?

If you can drill holes in the case and mount HDD's externally then something like this might work. https://www.amazon.com/Port-Controller-AsMedia-ASM1061-Chipset/dp/B009WN7QTE Really though a full size case will just be better.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Hey everyone! So I just read through the whole thread and have a few questions. 1. Has anyone tried running the AI in something like a Raspberry Pi and having it watch a folder in your VMS pc? I think I have enough overhead on my VMS to run the AI, but offloading it would be nice for adding...

    Temporary solution cameras recording

Run a site to site VPN and have BI at home record the cameras. Would be a ton of bandwidth haha, but it could work. Beyond that, you could use a free option like milestone xprotect or iSpy (which is crappy) on the local i5 machine for the temp cameras.

@mincient No worries! I went through this same process about a year ago getting a system off the ground for myself.
