    Thank you guys for this great advice! I'm going to take some time and mess around with settings based on this. I also noticed in my camera settings that FPS and iFrame were at different settings (30 / 60, respectively). That's also ill advised, no? I changed it to 30 / 30 for now.

    The camera is IPC-T3241T-ZAS and best I can tell it has built-in AI (Smart Motion Detection) and it's enabled (is it supposed to be disabled for Blue Iris to work properly?). I don't honestly know what you mean default settings.

    Here's the field of view as we speak... this is Cam3 One thing I didn't mention is that Cam2 has a motion sensing flood light that illuminates most of the field. So I'd think that would help... If this doesn't work at night that's a real problem!

    Ah I think I understand now - I wasn't paying attention to the length of the clips, some of them are 7 hours long, and hold all of the alerts for that time period. I get it now.

    Trying to understand this... when I click on an "Alert" it shows me a video clip, but when I click on "Clips" I don't see those same video clips (a couple might be there but it seems randomly different. I'll try the simple motion sensor algorithm thanks.

    OK - would you recommend something comparable in price? If there is nothing comparable in price, I'll give this a go and see how I like it. I'm not willing to make a big investment here until I can try out the blue iris, PC setup, etc.

    Correct. I'm actually looking at the various options now, I think I'm going to start with this Amcrest camera and a PoE+ switch, set it up with Blue Iris just for my front door camera while leaving the zmodo operational for everything else, and see how that goes...

    Sorry I had missed this... It's a PoE system in that it uses their proprietary switch and cabling, and I did not have to run dedicated power to the cameras.
