IR sensitivity differences between 5442-S3 and T54PRO-ZE ... puzzling results
The Pro has some over exposure/blown hightlights going on there. The big takeaway for me is the massive overprocessing with the 54Pro, looks like combination of sharpening, gain and NR, couldn't say which. It results in less detail and a far from natural look to some of the shrubs/trees/grass. -

That would be nice, well above my paygrade that one! I'll take the full custom firmware with manual override on any Ai/Auto pixie dust features, sunset/sunrise profile scheduling and normally expected behaviour with shutter speeds and freezing motion, day and night :clap: -

This will be the auto/Ai pixies doing there thing I suspect. Similar thing happens when a car passes at night with IR or colour, processing happens and 'pixelation' effect begins. -

It should work well, I actually just slowed the shutter a bit on mine and that bright spot is very apparent. The film will be out and fitted either tomorrow or Tuesday :thumb: Let us know how it works out if you get some. -

There are no doubt some strange things going on in the background, sometimes mine can be running in B&W as the sun comes up, or early morning. As a vehicle passes through the scene it will literally switch to colour part way through around 30-35 frames! As my B54IR-Z4E-S3 keeps reminding me... -

Just go with the 1028 update, no reason not to at this point, been running it on two here since release. Auto LED's a bit wonky but that can be overcome. Have you tried using some 'frosted glass effect' window film/vinyl, it works great as a diffuser on white leds and also IR emitters. Have used it in the past on my starlight models that weren't very well diffused, cheap enough and does the job. I intend to add some on my S3 turret when I work... -

I have so far found the 49225PTZ, 5442 bullet and S3 bullet to have best IR power, in that order give or take with the latter two. Hard to say with the 54ProZE turret, at this point I would say less power than the others mentioned. I suspect that the S3 sensor is possibly just more sensitive to... -

Unless you drop shutter below 2ms you can forget freezing motion on these 54Pro's, 4ms, 8.33ms, forget it, never going to happen. Below 2ms (ideally 1ms) and you will see motion freeze as sharp as the static objects. I am not saying it is ideal and you probably sick of me bashing on about it but... -

I can almost guarantee you have motion blur in those 54Pro images, shutter will need to be lower than 2 to stop that, try 1.5 or ideally 1. Currently I am running my car monitoring Pro at 0.7ms. It will sharpen up the freeze frame then. Give it a try if you haven't already, disable NR also and... -

If the sign on the S3 is sharper or easier to read, it isn't by much, very close I would say. Pro image no doubt has a nicer look to it, will await the night images, hopefully with a visitor! -

I believe the extreme edges of the lens/image are not as good as they could be, but the only 'blur' is the out of focus area which is anything closer than about 4-5 feet. -

Yes, appears that the 4K has it faults and limitations like many cameras, low light performance is not one of them thankfully :thumb: For me it performs in two critical areas, low light performance and the ability to freeze action very well. Oh, and I guess a third would be 8MP resolution... -
