Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

It has been a few weeks since I began using the newer cameras with the Time Plan Settings schedule. Previously a user (still am for older cams) of Dahua Sunrise Sunset application, this worked flawlessly for years now, even setting focus on ALPR cams. Now I know it has been raised before by...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

About right I would guess, although we would happily pay $300-400 for a camera with such a sensor and nice lens, most would probably not. Only Dahua, Hikvision and others know the sales numbers for the lower light, higher priced units. Shame though, I would be very happy to buy three or four at...

Dropping this in here since I was typing something similar as a reply elsewhere. No doubt a lot of this is common knowledge but anyway... I have found it quite interesting to test the four camera variations I got recently, S3 turret, S3 bullet, 4K-T and of course the 54ProZE! Still for...

Best to be cautious, I 'only' bought three to test the water :lmao: - turns out it was the deep end. :slap:

@bigredfish I would have a small virtual  wager that you will see a nice change in daytime quality on the 54Pro if you knock gain down to 20-30 just for a test, of course it will darken the image somewhat but you have so much light there it should be fine. Pushing the ISO (gain) down will...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

OK, here is the thing, in the daytime you should be running gain as low as possible, this reduces ISO and in turn quality should significantly improve, potentially at least. Your mileage may vary of course, some will notice the quality more than others. If you have lots of light then potentially...

You run 50 gain during the day?
  8. CamCrazy

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Yes indeed, that is looking a lot better, NR just kills these at the moment. Remind me what gain you have set? that is another things which seems to affect these more than most cameras, I would like to have mine on 30 but stick with 40 so it eases to transition when light fades. If you can...

I get that 100%, hot mess if not daylight no doubt, which makes daytime somewhat irrelevant I know. But you should be getting better and more consistent results with those light levels, if you can face anymore testing :wow: Regardless, a truck comes by and my S3 is clean and noise free...

Depending on whether the bullet 54Pro is working differently, my take on the black vehicle and the carts is down to NR and/or processing. The only time I see those kind of artifacts/smearing/blur now on my Pro ZE is during poor light or at night, anything close to daylight and mine are in pretty...

With that said I am still getting good results on dark vehicles, during the day, dusk and night, well white is the winner!!
  12. CamCrazy

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Yes 100% they love white or light vehicles! black or dark is a struggle! that must be the brain again!!!

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I can promise you these Pro's do not like NR or sharpening, it fries the brain even more. Mine is running 15fps and will give same results at 20fps or even 25fps, remember mine is a ZE turret. I switch mine to IR 30 minutes before sunset, at least, sometimes 1 hour. Light is bad in the UK though.

I will put my 54Pro ZE which covers a road on max zoom tomorrow and just make sure it still gives me good freeze motion, at the moment it is on around 50% zoom, possibly 60%. I do have one covering a door way with human traffic and that is OK, maybe not quite S3 level but pretty damn close, more...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Yes and no! - during the day mostly I find my Pro's are OK, low light or night is when the processing takes the wheel! otherwise I can get them to nail motion pretty good, all be it on 0.95ms shutter. The light in @bigredfish samples is very good, maybe too good and this is causing other issues...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

This is odd, the white SUV looks fine, something isn't right, I can get better results in the UK :( where the light is poor. You could drop the shutter to 0 - 0.7ms, but even on 1ms it should be better. Assuming you on H264H, high bitrate, no NR and no sharpening (initially at least), backlight...

    Dahua SD49225T-HN PTZ repair log

I am in the process of an attempted repair on one of my SD49225T-HN ptz cameras, believe the network socket has corroded, certainly one of the spring connectors has gone bad. Shall make notes on here for the pin out/colour mapping of the 8 core network cable and also list the replacement I got...

IR sensitivity differences between 5442-S3 and T54PRO-ZE ... puzzling results

100% this, the sliders and numbers, particularly shutter speed are of no relevance on these at this point. Your quote re the 5442's hit the nail right on the head, at this stage the real upgrade from a 5442 is....a 5442 S3! if you don't already own one. The 2MP starlights were such an easy buy...

IR sensitivity differences between 5442-S3 and T54PRO-ZE ... puzzling results

Probably don't need to tell you this but logic goes out of the window with these Pro's at the moment. Not really sure you can compare the settings like for like. If the motion quality was as good as these stills Andy would need to order as much stock as he could! Oddly enough I am in the...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Seem to recall someone else mentioned this, but I turned on Ai SSA for a laugh yesterday, only for 5 minutes! then disabled it. Since then almost every time a vehicle/person enters the scene, the image (exposure) darkens and general quality is reduced. Shortly after, sometimes immediately, the...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That is good to know, others have mentioned the upgrade being enough that they replaced other older 5442's. Mine I believe are the earlier models. I shall need to invest in some good external IR's, or at least one initially.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I have a couple of 5442 original bullets, hands down the best cameras I own for seeing into the darkness. Interested to swap one for an S3 to see if there are any benefits. Simply amazes me the ability those 5442's have with onboard IR.

I always experiment with fps, mostly I never need more than 10-15, only maybe on critical cams I will run 20. There are some occasions where I find more detail and better freeze frame on higher fps and certainly higher bitrate, as always, find your sweet spot. For me as per many others, quality...

Well that was known as false hope, 20 minutes after sunset, Pro is in IR and looking a bit of a mess, whilst the S3 and 4K continue as expected. I will leave it running at 10fps to see how the colour mode works out overnight, I have it switch in about 4 hours time.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I recommend testing 10fps if you can bare it :) mainly because I know that I have been to 15 in the past and didn't see a difference. I am pretty sure 10fps has helped in brief testing, light is terrible and raining also, still giving good results. I will leave it on 10fps overnight, will soon...

This cause/effect, is a big problem for these cameras, I see it all the time in either exact ghosting of the vehicle or 'ghosting follow shadow', as above behind the golf cart. Normally most noticeable in poor lighting and presumably once the auto processing/NR kicks in.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I know that pain :) ! - for my testing it seems that gain above 30 seems to really punish quality during the day, well at night as well but we both know gain below 50-70 at night is virtually impossible with these things :) ! Drop the frame rate, like 10 or below, tell me what happens, if I...

Has anyone tried dropping the frame rate right down to 10 or less, just done so one mine and will report back when cars appear. Weather is very dark due to cloud and rain, the Pro switched to B&W. Just a thought though, also I feel like worse things happen when these are in colour rather than...
