    I have a couple of wild guesses: The birds see a reflection of something like a worm or bug in the lens and then try to go after it. Or, the IR LEDs look like something worth eating like small berries.

    Years ago, I had a friend who adjusted his mirrors so far in that he could see himself. He never felt comfortable adjusting the mirrors to minimize the blind spot.

    They are looking for people holding the physical phone while texting and talking. They probably allow hands-free Bluetooth use of the phone.

    I'm torn about this. In some ways, it can change driving behavior to reduce accidents and traffic violations. In other ways, that's a lot of expensive equipment and salaries. And, monitoring people's every move is getting to be a bit much. Maybe autonomous driving cars will eliminate the need...

    Ah yes! Memories of battle scars from falling off your bicycle onto sidewalks. I think I ultimately won since I'm still alive and those sidewalks got replaced years ago. But, the scarred knees, elbows and foreheads hurt back then. Note ... we survived without helmets and padding in the old days!

    I agree with others. It's a strand of a spiderweb picked up by the night time IR lens. If you look closely you can see the strand on either side of the illuminated center.
