    replacing dlink dcs-7010L with DS-2CD2342WD-I

Do you want a wide view or a narrow? A wide view lens on the Hik's is the 2.4mm the 4 is standard and the 6 is the "tigher view".... there are demo photos on the web that can help you make that decision as well.

    Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - HDD Error

Your hard drive appears to be getting "up there" in age, 3.3 years of continuous power on? That could also be an issue as well. The drive appears also to have seek/read error raw values that are off the charts compared to my new drive that was just put into service a couple months ago. Just...

    HIkvision remote controller?

Most places do not sell the remotes anymore, and you really don't need it, a wireless mouse works great.

    Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P - HDD Error

again, any news on the cables, power output from on the 12v DC inputs? I rarely think firmware would cause an HDD error. Also did you try re-formatting the drive in the NVR just to see if *maybe* it has bad sectors?

I've had HORRIBLE luck with WD Purples, I changed to Seagate 4TB Surveillance drives and have had ZERO failures, they run cooler, quieter, and are much more stable. IMHO

Hi German- Your english is great, no worries! To answer your questions: - Yes you do - Setup isn't any more complicated either way - No it doesn't, remote viewing is done by the NVR not the cameras - Yes you can use any brand PoE switch, I reccomend HP for quality and reliability, as their...

nvr stuck on embedded NVR on screen

Please don't think I'm being snarky, but why would you upgrade firmware when there isn't something wrong with the NVR? It just seems risky and problematic... isn't the old adage of if it ain't broke, don't fix it, applicable?

Does it help BI if I use QoS settings on my router

nvr stuck on embedded NVR on screen

can you perhaps elaborate further? model number? firmware version? what steps you took... you are so vague that you've basically asked "why is the ..." and that's it.

Blue Iris on Windows Server 2012 RS Essentials

any chance you could potentially run BI on a VM on that server, so you can isolate and control the resources of the machine enough to the point where it doesn't impact the main operations of the business? Personally, if it was me, I would never run a mission critical application (either as a...

How effective is Blue Iris for motion/audio activated video recording?

@fenderman with all due respect, I even provided you with my settings and we still couldn't get reliability. So I'm respectfully disagreeing with your commentary of the motion detection being 100% reliable. BI is a great product don't get me wrong, but it most certainly is NOT 100% reliable, or...
