Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Guys, is there any tutorial on this board about setting this type of cameras. I am a complete newbie in this matter and I am playing with the setup and different functions. I would really appreciate if an experienced member would explain with some examples. Otherwise it's just learning by doing...

It's somehow protected by a cover but in case of heavy wind it can get some rain, but wires are kept and connected in an IP66 box mounted under the camera. It's all sealed with silicone.

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I mounted this beast :) It took me half of Saturday, but I had a series of unfortunate events :) The biggest unfortunate event of all was that after everything was properly connected and sealed it occured that camera has a power but there is no connection over lan. The lan wire was checked with...

That would make sens, is there anybody who got straight wallmount? If it's a faulty batch then it means they don't have any QA because you can tell it's not straight by just looking at it, you don't need any measuring tools. Nevertheless the camera looks decent and very well made, I'll try to...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I got mine today. I just connected it to check if it works and all looks fine - it works, makes some disturbing constant noise and I can see the image in the browser plugin. I cannot evaluate the image quality because it is just test run and it lies on the floor of my lounge room so I'll give...

Confirm. I got the tracking number on 24th of Feb, and today UPS finally says it arrived in NL, first at Rotterdam then 95 minutes later in Eindhoven. Scheduled delivery is Wednesday end of day :) During the weekend we had fantastic weather here in Warsaw with around almost 20*C which is very...

    i7 7700 or i7 7700k

Guys, is it worth going for 7700k or 7700 will be enough for BI. Price difference in negligible but my concern is heat emission 65W vs 95W. I am not sure how many cams will be attached, probably around 10 - 12.

    New AMD Ryzen

Pitty BI does not support AMD VCE 2.0 or 3.0 from Ryzen.

    New AMD Ryzen

Agree, that's why it was my original idea to go with 8 core Ryzen. I just didn't know that the only option for hardware acceleration is intel quick sync :/ Is there any alternative for BI with hadrware acceleration of nvidia cuda GPU for instance? I am very tempted by those Ryzen's.

    New AMD Ryzen

You were right guys. The rule (shutter = 2xfps) applies to general film making situations and it gives you pleasent effect for human brain and eyes when you watch the movie. Please in terms of motion blur :) but in some situations its better to use different approach, although you can get a...

    New AMD Ryzen

Guys, thank You for all the valuable info. I am new to video surveilance, but I am keen on photography and taking motion pictures of my 4 yo, and 2yo kids. I have a go pro camera (able to shot 1080p@60fps) and dslr video camera. From my amateur film making experience shutter speed in video...

    New AMD Ryzen

I am new to video surveillance but I take lots videos of my small kids running around like hell and I can see a huge difference between shots taken in 30fps and 60fps. It is true that faster lens and smaller shutter speeds gives you a sharper picture. But when you make a video the fps also...

    New AMD Ryzen

For sure I will build my own box, for a simple reason of having fun doing it. Thanks for all the information. Knowing what you wrote, I will need to either find another software or build one box for 8 cameras and another box for rest of them. 60fps is great because it gives very sharp motion...

    New AMD Ryzen

From what is now available in Intel department, the best choice is probably kaby Lake i7 7700k? Or two kaby Lake xeons but it's rather expensive and not yet available. Would it be enough (one kaby i7) for such BI server as described in of the previous post?

    New AMD Ryzen

Point taken, that's a pity, because new Ryzen cpu seems very promising in terms of performance and also TDP, as far as I remember Max 90W.

    New AMD Ryzen

I wanted to buy a dedicated GPU from ATI or Nvidia, but I don't know if BI supports any Cuda or ATI hardware decoding encoding. I need to make a research.

    New AMD Ryzen

I will go for AMD Ryzen. I am going to build a new BI server from scratch, not sure how many cams will be there at the end of the day. Probably I will assume that I will have 16 cams, all 1080p@60fps.

Ordered mine from Andy, I wonder how long it takes to deliver here, I took the longer route for the obvious reasons :) I need to see how the whole process works and then I will order few more.
