Just updated to new BI ver 5.4.3.0 and it broke object detection

Ok I tried it without quicksync and it makes a difference. It will now trigger but the motion has to be extreme. Even with both motion sliders pinned to the max for sensitivity. Everything is normal on the latest stable version.

yes I am running quick sync. When I revert back to the latest stable version everything works fine but as soon as I install the new version no more alerts.

Just updated to new BI ver 5.4.3.0 and it broke object detection

I updated to ver 5.4.3.0 tonight and it broke object detection for me. I ran the previous clips through the motion detection and I see the yellow box following the person in the clips but it never turns orange and I'm not getting any new alerts. I turned the sensitivity down to the lowest...

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

I have an Asus RT-AX88U router and I'm running OpenVPN and DDNS on it. DDNS offers the option to certify your domain name so I'm also using "Let's Encrypt" on my router to certify my network. I'm assuming you'll have to put your router IP there because your Blue Iris IP is an internal IP. Are...

Stumped as to why Blue Iris Android app via OpenVPN will not connect

I was just going to say I had to create a route to my local lan otherwise you'd only have access to the router only and not the other IPs on your lan. Also with the certificate being expired you can create an exception in your browser to disregard the certificate being expired. In firefox I had...

Best CPU for Blue Iris for lowest electricity consumption?

Just to help people understand why saving a mere 20W can save you hundreds in solar installation costs. Its not very difficult Calculate the Watt-Hr usage in a 24 hour period. In my case I'll use 65W. So 65watt times 24 hours in a day = 1560Wh (Watt-hours) needed to run for a day. You'll...

Best CPU for Blue Iris for lowest electricity consumption?

I'm running HP small form factor without a monitor with an i5-6500 intel cpu and with 4 cameras streams its drawing 30watts 90% of the time with the occasional bump to 40w when it records an event. The CPU system load is about 10-15%. Each camera draws about 5W-6W. I'm under 65W total

    4K camera choice

I really like my IPC-T5442T-ZE and IPC-T5442TM-AS 4k cameras and they are really good at night because they have a nice 1/1.8" sensor and reasonably priced below $200

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

No you download deepstack for cpu or gpu from the link in the BI help file. You just install it and BI will configure it in the global settings and then you enable it in each camera that you want it on.

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

@Bosty Nice to know that masking out a vehicle works in deepstack but using just one camera I cannot mask my vehicles because the vehicles in my driveway are never parked in the same spot and when they are not there I don't want to mask that area. Using a cloned camera will work in my case as I...

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

I'm using a IPC-T5442T-ZE in this particular case. FPS matches the mainstream and sub stream and I-frames are set to match FPS.

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

LOL yes I thought you meant installing another camera, yes cloning would work. I'll try that. Thanks for the clarification. Actually that should work really well to separate the road traffic from the traffic entering my driveway regardless of deepstack. When cloning you can use the same...

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

Thanks for your suggestion, Yes of course adding another camera will work. I was trying to get it to work with one. I'm just trying to tinker with deepstack to see if it will work for my situation. TBH So far its pretty unreliable for me because in my limited testing with 2 outdoor cameras...

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

The thing is I live in a dead end street and I want to tag any vehicles passing in my street and not the people walking. I guess this won't work for me.

    5.4.1 - April 3, 2021 - Support for DeepStack facial recognition

If I am monitoring my driveway for vehicles how can I do this when there are already vehicles parked in my driveway? Everytime I get an alert deepstack puts it through because AFAIK its detecting the vehicles that are already in the yard.

Changing profiles with the Blue Iris App

Without further info on your problem its kinda hard to offer help. Generally speaking, In the app you have to unlock the profile buttons then you just have to press on the button of the profile you want. If it isn't changing its possible Blue Iris is overwriting it. Try logging in and...

Is that a virtual win10 machine? If so I believe I saw that HA doesn't work on a virtual machine. Someone will quickly correct me if I'm wrong. :)

    Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

I did use common sense, I selected person, car, truck, bus.bicycle, cat, dog and deepstack detected my jeep wrangler as a suitcase and rejected the alert. I'm aware that deepstack shouldn't affect motion trigger sensitivity but when its on BI is noticeably less sensitive. I'll try increasing the...

    Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

I tried deepstack tonight but to be honest I wasn't impressed, at least not so far. Noticeable decrease in motion sensitivity as compared with deeptrack off. I have a 5 second pre-trigger set and many videos start and I'm already well into the video with deepstack enabled. Also many false...

What is causing - - > HW Encode failed error

I had time to troubleshoot this a little further. I tried reducing the FPS down to 20, tried reducing the bitrate, tried changing resolutions, tried using h.264, tried disabling all but one camera. I tried turning off the HA on that camera. I tried disabling HA globally , no change...

What is causing - - > HW Encode failed error

I tried lowering the FPS to 20 and also tried lowering the bitrate and I'm still getting this error. I've got a T5442TM-AS camera running the same firmware and settings and I'm not getting any HW Encode errors in BI with that one. I started a ticket with Blue Iris to see if they have any...

T5442T camera: how to reduce microphone wind noise from the pinhole microphone?

I have a IPC-T5442T-ZE camera and it really works great but I'm getting a lot of wind noise from the mic even in relatively low wind. I've searched this forum and others to see if anyone has come up with a solution that doesn't interfere with the IR lights or camera view but I only found...

What is causing - - > HW Encode failed error

Thanks for the detailed response. so you think it might be the camera and not BI, interesting. I'll try reducing the FPS to 20 as I probably don't need 30 for identifying people that are walking, I have another camera running the same resolution but its max camera FPS rate is 20 and I...

What is causing - - > HW Encode failed error

I noticed that often (but not always) after my IPC-T5442T-ZE camera detects motion I often get a HW Encode setup failed: '- 22 for recording 0' I have the camera's main stream at the highest resolution 30fps using h.265 with iframes set to 30. The substream is using D1 resolution 30fps h.265...

Is it only me or is everyone else constantly reconnecting to see streams?

I guess I'm the only one. If that is the case then here are 2 videos showing what I am experiencing and maybe someone might have an idea to try. I've started a ticket with BI and Ken requested I make a video so I did and sent it to him and I'm going to post it here in hopes that someone might...
