New Hikvision Acusense NVR or DeepInView NVR?

Just getting a Acusense camera by itself and adding it to a regular NVR works great also. Usually you would log into the acusense camera and set up the "AI" portion. That way the camera uses it's AI to filter the results and then pass those results to the NVR as events.

Best way to record 140 camera with server.

I would have just used a 256 channel Hikvision NVR. Running a standalone server with enough processing power to take video from each camera and put it on the HDD.... You are running 8MP cameras which have a bit rate of 8-11mbps each. A sata HDD has a theoretical throughput of 600MBps max. It...

Powered by DarkFighter 8MP or ColourVu 4MP

If you want authorized distributor then the easiest is B&H Photo. Other's would be like ADI but you would probably need an account to purchase. It depends on if you value the warranty or access to tech support or not. If not they are sold on Amazon. Next option would be OEM's. I am sure...

    Google home and hikvision

Hikvision is a prosumer/commercial grade. Buyers of that level care more about function/reliability/features then the way it aesthetically looks. It is just like work vans compared to the vans for family use.

    Standalone camera - noob questions

Smart codec seem like it would be encoding in H265+ which compresses video more so you can get more video on the amount of space available. I would have that on. Then change to VBR. That is for variable bit rate. Use less for times with less movement and more when there are changes happening...

HikVision DS-2CD2347G1-L(U) Which lens would best for driveway

A 4MM or 6MM will give you a more narrow field of view which will get rid of the view of your neighbor's area. Is there any type of lighting such as streetlight or porch light? I have the same camera with the LED turned off and it is able to see great! I don't have the WDR on. I feel when...

    Deepinview vs Acusense

DeepInView is the top of the line AI camera that Hikvision makes. It is more advanced due to it being able to detect behavior instead of the human/vehicle of the Acusense. The AI is suppose to be faster in DeepInView compared to the Acusense. If you already have an existing system then yes...

    DS-2DE4A425IW-DE

This PTZ requires 18 watts to power it. Your Hikvision NVR should be able to power it if it has not maxed out the power allocation. Look under the "camera" tab and you will see "POE Information". From there you will see how much power is used currently by your system and all the cameras and...

    Advice on PTZ

Use both at the same time. Set up motion detection/intrusion/line crossing on the fixed lens camera. Under trigger channel for camera set it to the PTZ. On the PTZ set up the preset to the fix lens camera location. Once the fix lens detects anything then it will tell the PTZ which will turn...

    NVR Camera Limit

Well..... You can always get an IP camera and put a SD card in it. That way is it recording to the camera. You can then access it by logging into the cameras using the IP address or the cloud account that comes with it. Since you have a "I" series Hikvision recorder I would guess that you...

What type of camera for narrow 1.8m wide by 20m long area

The model number I listed is for the OEM model made by LTS. The camera is actually made by Dahua. The model is DH-IPC-HDBW4231FN-E2-M. The lens on the unit can be tilted to face down 90 degrees when you have it mounted on the wall to look down so it wouldn't be looking in your neighbors yard...

DS-2CD2332 changing password on its own

You likely have an older firmware. I believe anything 5.3.0 and below have this issue where the camera will "forget" it's password. They even have the issue where it forgets the date and changes it to a 1-1-1970 date. Upgrade it to firmware 5.4.0 and up and that should fix it.

    Problem with Hikvision PTZ

If you are trying to use ptz controls on the browser then it is on the right side of the screen. Click on the "<" (arrow) to bring out the PTZ controls.

    Problem with Hikvision PTZ

Are you just trying to use the PTZ control for the camera? That is in "liveview" on the local monitor. Select the camera and a row of icons will show up. Click on the joystick looking icon and it will give you the up/down/left/right/zoom in/zoom out.

    DS-2CD2332-I Locking Screw Snapped

If you look on the back of the mount (the actual eyeball part goes in the mount that then goes in the wall) you can see the screw is held in place by a "C" shape washer. Just take the remaining "broken" thread part of the screw out and grab a small screw that comes with computers. (usually the...

New Hikvision Acusense NVR or DeepInView NVR?

The models listing "iDS-...." is the DeepInMind models which is the high end. The cheaper "AcuSense" are the "DS-....NXI....". there is a difference between the two. Acusense is roughly $500< and the AI for it will differentiate human/vehicles from everything else. Then again depending on...

    Hey guys, SATA question...

Yes. That would definitely be doable. Why not just do both fans? Those fans are like $10 each. If you decide to just change one fan then keep checking on the temperature to make sure it is not getting a little too warm. Wouldn't want a couple hundred dollar recorder to become a paperweight...

Powered by DarkFighter 8MP or ColourVu 4MP

I have both the darkfighter and colorvu. Depends on what you want it for. Darkfighter if you have the IR light on will be in black/white. If you keep it in day mode (IR off) then it will give you color image at night as long as there is sufficient moon/starlight or anything like a light...

    Standalone camera - noob questions

I am intrigued by what type of camera you will be using. IR will not do you any good since it will be pointed at the sky so it is probably something with a super low lux rating like a starlight or a nitecolor camera. I would suppose a dahua nitecolor since it has a good lux rating and bigger...

Motion detection is set off by pixel changes. So if any pixels change colors then it would set it off depending on how sensitive you set it up.

    Hey guys, SATA question...

On my unit (Hikvision) the fan in the power supply was soldered into the board. I had to cut the wires and then soldered the new fan in along with some heat shrink. The one mounted in the case is a simple unplug the old on and plug the new one back in. Depends on how far you want to go at...

Camera image has purple tint after installation

I have had that same issue happen with one of my cameras. What I first did was factory defaulting the camera and when it booted back up, everything looked back to normal. Then going back to the image settings and playing with options like WDR, HLC, BLC, etc the purple hue came back. Concluded...

    Standalone camera - noob questions

Depending on how you have it set up. You could do a event recording so it would only record when it detects any motion. That way you would get more recording time and be easier to search for footage since it would note at what specific time a motion happened.

    Hey guys, SATA question...

Yes. I am using two Noctuas. My unit has two fans in it so since I was wanting to get rid of the loud whirling noise the NVR makes when on, I changed them both out. It would be pointless to change one fan to a quieter one while the other is still super loud. If you only have one fan in your...
