Thanks Wildcat, reading your post, I tried the following: I set the internal IR (of the 5442 ZE S3 with latest firmware ...animal) to either zero or one, (but on, with smart IR, on General) and have the scene illuminated by an external Tendelux IR light. If I wander into the field of view...
regarding the IR exposure adjustments, are these are done by adjusting the IR output rather than aperture? Some of us use an external IR light to deal with bugs, spiders, rain and snow, etc, so there is no auto adjust of those lights. Is there any thought to adding any aperture adjust to help...
As far as I can tell, something broke the Kasa file. But with the superb assistance of @TonyR , I was able to use a Shelly US plug

instead of the Kasa and get it working with Blue Iris alerts just like the Kasa did...
I had the same issue where the 4kt would not trip much, or at all, in "corridor mode" (turn 90 degrees). My solution is to have another camera that sees the same area, but is horizontal, provide the triggers to the 4kt that is in corridor mode. (in the horizontal camera's alerts, have the...
The latest versions of the Empire tech (Dahua) T54IR-ZE-S3 (varifocal), or the T54IR-AS S3 (fixed focal), combined with the latest firmware, do an excellent job of alerting on animals using the internal IVS triggers. Combine that with Blue Iris (onvif) and it works very well. Mine reliable...
Thanks much, I will look at the macros. Any negative to using "&LAN"? And I can't seem to edit the WAN address at all in the Blue Iris settings/ Web Server (to use ddns for ex) any change disappears and original WAN address comes back.
EDIT: solved by changing "&WAN" to "&LAN" in Blue Iris: Alerts/Pushover / Parameters Maybe there's a better way I missed, but this seems to work now.
I've lost a portion of my Pushover (with ZeroTier) use: all is good except opening a Pushover alert on my android phone, when I click on the...
Can you show how to make the BI rule in this case? (all entries in the new rule) I can't seem to get it working (listening for "IVS-3" for example). Thanks
does smart PSS show recorded files (which for me would be the ones recorded by Blue Iris (I'm assuming not)? ... so are you recording in smart PSS or accessing recordings on an SD card?
Thanks, those weren't the issue here (they refer to a short (10 sec? ) timeout.. not the one I experience at about 10 minutes. Web suggests a few very complicated ideas (like editing the web page on the server to play audio or video full time), nothing I can use. I'll cope with the timeout.
the 5442 s3 series are great cameras. The first one, either that or the turret version. is great. Note that the second one you linked to, the180 degree color 4k, does not have IR so you need a bunch of natural light unless you wish to have white lights on all night. If you do want a 180...
My pulsing mostly disappeared with: H.264H, General, 15 FPS, CBR, 10,249 Bit Rate, I frame of 15 and highest resolution for the main stream, and same for sub with bit rate of 1024 with "d1" resolution.
I tried the same settings, except I raised the Substream to 1024, all else the same. Both the Main and Substream have been steady all day, with clouds/sun, and cloudy. We shall see... I'm optimistic.
Raising the bit rate, etc does help lower (if not eliminate) the pulsing in the Main Stream, but most of the pulsing I see is in the Substream that is displayed in the BI layouts. And I don't see how one could effectively raise the bit rate enough in Substream to get rid of the pulsing without...
With the addition of "animals" to the latest firmware in the 5442 s3 series, I quit CodeProject for now and am relying on the cam's IVS and it has performed very well.
In the camera's web setup, just enable IVS and draw your tripwires and intrusion areas.
In BI's Video Tab, under Configure, be...
I see the same "Breathing", or "Pulsing", on some of my 5442 (s3) cams. Never at night, and it seems to be worse on scenes that have large flat areas like the driveway surface, or lawn. So like water, lots of tiny changes of a relatively large, flat area. And changing bit rate definitely...
Which Echo Show are you using to see Blue Iris? Will they all handle it or do you need the one with Fire TV in it? Might be nice to have a small echo available to see BI output.
The varifocal is also an s3. (T54IR-ZE-S3) I have several of both that and the fixed lens versions. I find the new mount easier to mount, as you can attach the plate first (without camera dangling and cables dangling), then just snap it in and secure the screw to tighten it. (assuming you...
I have the same experience using a 4kt in corridor mode... BI motion with cpai works fine, but I was trying to move to all IVS in camera, and IVS wouldn't trigger with a person in corridor mode.
