Under Day/Night , Move the "Distance" number to zero and work up. mine is set at 50. may not help . Another approach. Turn IR off ( Smart Supplement light OFF) and add a independent IR light off axis with your camera say off to the right or as high as possible and not hit the tree. From...

Try turning down your IR light level. The tree is setting the auto gain and darkening the street.

Has anyone experienced a hike in electricity bills after upgrading to a Smart Meter?

Yes your friend works with a system that is typical. (Maybe old. Analog meters get stuck and tap will release the needle) They are monitoring the line flow for reliability purposes not financial. They get paid at the “ house” meter not line flow unless with other utility. But it is probably...

Has anyone experienced a hike in electricity bills after upgrading to a Smart Meter?

Analog meters aren’t perpetually machines. They are watt motors that drive gears . That disk that turns is using power to turn. As previously stated at very low power they won’t move. Also utilities are regulated which means meter reader savings can be spent elsewhere if justified to the...

    Dahua - 24th Floor

What field of view are you looking for? In terms of how many cars fill the view, ie the surrounding 4 cars , or just one car so any movement will trigger motion detect or to recognize their hats or hair style? I can simulate a twenty story car view with my tower and driveway . I need best...

    Dahua - 24th Floor

My first attempt at an eagle nest monitor, I needed a long lens. I bought a Laview(Hikvision) bullet $70 and took the lens out carefully and resealed the camera. I then cut some pvc spacer and hot glued on a lens base . A 70 -200 mm range lens or similar gave me a really long lens. But I had...

    Does a PTZ light exist?

You would probably want a joy stick to control. I’ve tried to follow a slow deer with a ptz camera. Response time and perspective makes it more difficult.

Mounting PTZ camera on a tree 8ft from home. In the air or conduit? Surge precautions?

I used a fiber to cat5 converter at both ends. One end was a netgear switch with 3 cameras and with fiber out and the other end was a converter. I used power from a remote source compared to my network. My isolation was from cameras on a 100 ft tower. So far no issues after over a year.

Camera Image Capture not set right or not working. Must be me?

I have several HIK cameras and on the web browser(IE with webcomponents) the image capture button says it has captured the image. and shows location. But there isn't anything there. I've searched the entire dive and it is not there. I have included the obvious settings. Am I missing...

    Dahua 4K PTZ DH-SD8A820WA-HNF

I bought the SD8A840VI-HNI from Andy last Nov. See if you can get it to write to a NAS. My version doesn't have that option, It only writes to the SD card. It's very heavy. I have it on a 60 ft tower . Here's a pic before the tower went up. The 24 v ac supply is in the mounting box and the...

    Hikvision PTZ Network Dome Camera

Simple part first, most cameras don’t come with mounting hardware. But a simple installation maybe just require screws, but then there is the drilling holes for wire for power/ signal, etc. I have several ptz but they only move on my command. I think it’s a misapplication to plan to move...

    Lightning strike issue

Any idea where the initial strike was? Lightning wants to go to ground. The best way to protect is to have a better path to ground than your equipment. Big enough strikes, there is no protection. Your circuit is a parallel path for the electrons. The surge protectors short the electrons to...

Help please: need external power supply for Hikvision ds-2de4582

I have several PTZ that required 24 v AC and they came with the transformer. Like TonyR said, read the tag and see if it says AC or DC. It would be difficult to run POE with needing 24v ac. Depends on your power needs ( amps times volts). Cat 5 wire is thin so they step it up to 55 v for...

It wouldn't play on an Ipad but did on my computer. thanks. Tony, I think the smooth ride up and down and the relative giant platform reassured me. One last task, getting the guy wire thru the trees(pines) in the left of the above picture. I tried with a crossbow at the top and the arrow...
