Black bear and her two cubs...

Managed to capture some pretty neat video of a bear that keeps visiting my feed plot. Generally it's discouraged to feed them, and you want to do everything you can to have them "move along". In part, because they run off all other game, but also because if they don't get fed, they begin to...

Send Pushover notifications with pictures and hyperlinks

All cameras have their own subdirectories under alerts. No camera is configured to save under the root alert folder. There are only two PO cameras, and all profiles are synced with the first profile. So that shouldn't be an issue...

Send Pushover notifications with pictures and hyperlinks

That may well be - but after running your FCV program, scanning my alerts directory, and manually triggering the cameras (I received PO notifications for both), nothing showed up in the FCV monitor. I'll let it run all day to see if it only does it sometimes...

Interestingly, my record tab shows "use default" for the jpg path, yet each image is in it's own camera folder. My video clip path is not default, and I explicitly have &CAM\&CAM.%Y%m%d_%H%M%S. Without the double &CAM, it will put all clips in one directory. So "use default" for jpgs must...

Send Pushover notifications with pictures and hyperlinks

If I monitor the directory for the given camera when I do a "trigger now", I can immediately see the new file appear in that directory - but it's not a temp. It's the full .jpg file that remains unchanged well after the trigger has resolved. The top file is the one it created. What's...

Send Pushover notifications with pictures and hyperlinks

There are two days of jpgs in each camera folder, but only for the cameras for where I specified to save JPG. That's only a handful of cameras at this point, since most save to the database. I have the path for the jpgs set to prefex a folder for each camera to keep the number of files in a...

I know - and that's how I have it set up for new clips. However, I have 64 cameras that all record alert images. That results in massive number of alert images which I felt affected stability - so I trimmed it an wanted to make sure there was no added workload.

    Close Call

I've been an advocate against VVS from day one. However, lately I've come to realize that most people with whom I share videos (taken by my phone) will be watching them on their phones - not a widescreen TV in the living room. And, while it would mean viewers would have to turn their phones...

Homeowner says someone was following her.. uh huh. Ooppss She's Right!

MYDXYRKT... Wish that wasn't taken. Would love to see the face of wife of the guy sounding that out while driving.

Thanks for the detailed instructions and explanation. I went the route of stopping the service and examining the alerts folder. In it, I found no temp in any of the file names. The naming syntax was odd to me, with each file name having a suffix of -1.jpg or -3.jpg: I'm not quite sure what...

Interesting. I ran the msg.exe trick and got the following: You asked whether I was saving JPG or AI markup files.... I'm not using AI at all, and I've selected to use jpg under the alert tab. If I choose "database" PO won't succeed. I hate that I need all this hand holding, but can you...

Thanks for the effort. No, these are being sent from the alert tab, just as described in your write up... In fact, I didn't know you could push notifications/emails from the trigger tab.

Not yet, but primarily because I'm not good at articulating the problem. And I feel like I'm wasting his time. It's not super critical and I assume that if it is a systemic problem someone will say something on my behalf

Well, I was hopeful that the delete/rebuild would resolve this issue but, alas, it did not... I think there may be a bug in one of the more recent updates. My brother uses email notifications for some of his cameras and has complained that as of late the attached images are also stale. It's...

Send Pushover notifications with pictures and hyperlinks

Everything has been working great recently... I get consistent images through pushover using the script. However, over the last few days, i've noticed that the images being sent are not the ones for the triggering event. Instead I'm getting the same static image from hours earlier. What is...

DH-TPC-BF5421-T Thermal camera captures wild hogs...

Finally got a 520' run of cat5 cable to the feed plot. Using a PoE++ (803.2BT) switch in extender mode (up to 250m), I am able to power two cameras aimed at the hog trap. Just happened to catch a doe going after my corn. The trap is for hogs - not the deer. It's just neat to be able to...

That's good news. Looks like Andy's is near $600... that'll have to come down a bit before my budget can justify it. Hopefully this will put some downward pressure on pricing...

I did ask him a while back and he was pretty emphatic that it was a hard limit. I would much rather have it one one, and would gladly pay to add more capacity. I'll try again.

DH-TPC-BF5421-T Thermal camera captures wild hogs...

Correct. I think the thermal is 13mm and the optical is 8mm. Definitely far from ideal, but at $75 a piece I can find a way to make it work. Most of them will be 20' up on utility poles along the street where wide FOV isn't super critical. Now my problem is I'm at 64 cameras and I can't add...

    Blue Iris UI3

Any idea what could be causing this flickering of video streams? It's been present for months on the console, but never on UI3 - until this morning. What's odd is it seems to only do it on the native display resolution when the browser is maximized. Any browser smaller than the entire...

Used to be - over on the other coast in Tampa. Moved to middle-TN about 8 years ago... lot's more open area and wild life. I have three cars a day that drive down my road. One is mail, the other UPS... Third is FedEx or my only neighbor.

DH-TPC-BF5421-T Thermal camera captures wild hogs...

I absolutely love this camera. I picked up 5 of them on eBay about 6 months ago - a guy was letting them go for about $160/ea. That was a good deal compared to what others were charging. But since then, I've realized I can use a lot more. Unfortunately, the guy had no more to offer, and...

Poor IR contrast in new Tennessee license plates

Thanks Tim - Yeah, I read all 20 pages again tonight to refresh my memory on how we progressed. Unfortunately, my application is a bit unique - with zero ambient lighting where the camera is placed. No street lights, no houses visible from any direction. Fireflies are BRIGHT out here. So...

Poor IR contrast in new Tennessee license plates

Has anything changed (i.e. come to market) that provides for a DIY solution with a 740nm IR and appropriately tuned sensor? I saw the review of Andy's LPR camera, but that's just a bit too rich for my budget. I was hoping by now something like conventional Z12-E, but equipped with the 740nm...
