Thanks for the firmware @EMPIRETECANDY ! Wow, feel like first time working with a Dahua camera again, have to learn everything again

    DAHUA NVR SMD settings

Ok, then do like this! Logon the the respective cameras and enable SMD (Settings -> Event -> SMD). To make sure the events are being recorded, logon to the NVR and check the record settings (Settings -> Storage -> Schedule), in my setup I have enabled General, Motion and Intelligent. Then...

    DAHUA NVR SMD settings

Moi Kiupa and welcome to the forum! What NVR and cameras are you running? A general recommendation is that you do as much camera settings on the camera itself --> Login in to the camera web-interface to set up I.E. SMD or IVS instead of doing it from the NVR.

Empire Tech Andy Made It To YouTube Video

This is also something he missed in the video unfortunately, the balance between megapixles and Cmos-size. And the picture above shows just that (even though 5541vis not a "NI"). And exactly like you say @sebastiantombs the 5541 is working its ass of to produce this pic that very blurry. It's...

Empire Tech Andy Made It To YouTube Video

Here's a simple sample (hihi) of a 5541 (top of picture) in forced colour vs the 5442R-ASE-NI. Do take note the slight angle difference to the 5442R-ASE-NI's favour. The 5442R-ASE-NI is 3,6mm vs 2,8mm on the 5541. Both cameras in main etc etc. The 5442R-ASE-NI performs very good!

    POE switch connection to NVR

Of course you can do like you propose and it seem to make more sense for your wiring. I, personally, prefer to do like this to enable easier access to the cameras, so you don't need to access them via the NVR (see red marking). If you haven't already purshased the switch , this little mini...

    SMD 3.0 dahua

@EMPIRETECANDY what camera models are in the scope for the new FW? Is it still the 5442-series? If so, count me in as I just installed a 5442T-ASE-NI to a great spot where I have horses and pigs (not together thought! ) And for you guys who wunder about the camera choice, simple, where the...

    Disable/enable "Disarming" by API?

It is the same weird logic in the NVRs webinterface and in the DMSS. You need to think two or three times to understand what it actually mean. Changing to "Armed / Disarmed" would make it just a little bit more clear.... =)

    SmartPSS stuttering image

Dss express is not better if you only want to view your own cameras. It consists of q server and a client software and need more juice from the PC. Are you in the same Lan/Wlan as your NVR when you're having the stuttering/lagging or are you remote? You can try to enable (or disable if it's...

Looking for feedback and testing of my Dahua Home Assistant integration (via HACS)

Yes, this works fine for both cameras, when I logon of course.

Looking for feedback and testing of my Dahua Home Assistant integration (via HACS)

hmm.. Both the 5541 and the 4433 are domes, if it matter. Let me know if you want me to test something specific, Il'd be more than happy to do so!

Looking for feedback and testing of my Dahua Home Assistant integration (via HACS)

Hi, I just upgraded to the latest version, where the alarm function for AD-cams are added and tested to add a few cameras. I haven't used this HA integration so much yet so I don't know if below errors are caused by the new version. Cameras that are tested and works (at least to connect)...

    Water pressure monitoring

@DanDenver I'm totally with you! The tailoring is the best, makes the successes so worth the head scratching vs buying a ready kit from the store. Next thing is likely a water flow measure thingy as I have the components home already. May become a 'push-a-button'and give the horses 50L water or...

    Water pressure monitoring

Last night I finished project I've been thinking of for a long time. I live on the country side where I have my own well for water, I have horses and other animals that have their own bath tubs and big buckets of drinking water. The problem was that it's easy to forget that you're filling water...

Add Camera which is in another network (different subnet)

I have no solution for you other that I can confirm it works, at least on my Dahua NVR. I have cameras on different subnets connected. As you mentioned, setting up the routing is key and this is where I would search for the solution. But, and again, as you mentioned, you can access all cameras...

2021 April Dahua Full Color Camera

@Wildcat_1 Tell us more about the new IVS rule!
  22. G

    Active Deterrence Series

Yes, you can do that. Easiest using DMSS app. You can also talk thought the app and thought the camera speaker. Don't know the dB but it's loud enough IMO at least when using the siren (there are other sounds) you can set the volume level in the camera.

One of my T5442T-ZEs started misbehaving

+1 to what Wittaj said! My general advice is to also schedule a reboot, personally I reboot every night as this solves a lot of mysterious behaviours.

Which IVS type should I use?

Well, i would start with one thing at the time. Currently you are testing if IVS and if the save files to NAS is working, I haven't got save to nas running, i prefer save to FTP instead but this is a different chapter :) Personally I would rather test IVS by installing gDMSS/iDMSS or DMSS app...

Which IVS type should I use?

No problem, this is how you learn :) Let us know if it works now. As mentioned earlier in the post, for best results you should do your settings in IE. The easiest way to connect to the camera (if it's not connected to a POE-NVR) is to goto run and enter "iexplore <ip to camera>".
  26. G

Which IVS type should I use?

Guten tag Final, Just to check, did you remember to activate the IVS Smart Plan after your factory reset? If not, you can properly set up IVS but the rules will not show as IVS is in fact not active. This is easy to forget, i've been scratching my head more than once due to this. ;)

NVR is automatically changing to 16-view

I have the same NVR and it's working fine for me, also viewing 8 cameras on a TV. Personally I have scheduled a daily reboot on the NVR - this solves a lot of strange errors 8-) The second picture was to show that if you also click in IE it will impact your view on the TV - a good feature IMO...

NVR is automatically changing to 16-view

Not sure it will help but I had the same earlier and I ended up enabling "Tour" but only activating the screen i want to see. Then the Tour is changing to the same "page" every time. Another thing I've learned (the hard way) is that these buttons, see in green below, controls the NVR output...

Configure Dahua PTZ with more IP cameras

1.) Post-Record - Delay recording for a specified time after the alarm ends 2.) Go to Settings -> PTZ -> Function then settings as per picture. The idle time is how much time need to pass until the camera goes to your preset of choice.

Configure Dahua PTZ with more IP cameras

What NVR and version are you running, somewhat modern Dahua with the 4.0 ? Do like the print screen above from wittaj shows. Log on to the NVR or the camera and set up an IVS rule, in my case a tripwire on channel 1. Click on PTZ Linkage and Enable and select what cameras should do what...
