    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I use MQTT to send my plate to Homeseer and was thinking of doing something very equivalent. I think our plates have 2,4,5,6,7,8,B,J,S,Z The 8s and Bs get confused...7 and Zs... 5 and Ses...... The J and 1s... I also get spaces in the middle of some of them.... The permutations can get...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I was thinking something like this myself-- rather than say a license plate is 12S 765 at 90% confidence.... I would like to put that particular plate in and have it tell me if it sees that plate. I often will see my plate and it will say 125 765 at 90% confidence or 12S 76S at 95%...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

So I installed cpu-2.5.0 on my Linux box under Docker. Went great. ALPR and object detection work fine. On Windows, I installed 2.5 RC4 after removing my old version. I removed the Codeproject.ai directory completely and installed the new one. I then added the Coral lib and the ALPR one...

3D Printing Dual Camera Mount for Pairing Z12's

I was wondering if that PETG was going to be strong enough to support those camera with that infill, but once I saw them mounted so gravity is doing some of the work it made a lot more sense. I 3D printed some camera mounts that go up against the lap siding and fit between the housing. It was...

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

How does the software run on Docker for Windows? I have my Coral AI TPUs on my windows machine... Code Project runs like a dog on my windows machine and maybe this is the reason. I assume GPU and TPU passthrough is possible on docker for windows?

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I make it a routine to make sure the modules and data directory get deleted if I am changing versions.... Are you on linux, windows, or mac?

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

Interesting.... they are all on separate machines and typically you just forward the port to the container. I wonder if meshing uses a new port... The docker hosts are on 192.168.0.2,173,174 respectively. I suppose I could set up a macport or something, but that would suck.

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.0

https://www.codeproject.com/AI/docs/features/mesh.html This claims the mesh "just works". I have 3 codeproject.ai instances running. 2 orange Pi and one Linux. All on docker.... They don't appear to see each other... The documentation is useless..

My MQTT problems are not to to blue Iris.....

    Not getting all the triggers...

I am at 10 FPS... Seems ok. I am missing a few reads now- but no missing triggers. I made a few tweaks. Hopefully I get better results... What seems to definitely be messed up is the MQTT messages with the direction. I have B on the left and C on the right.... I am wondering if it is...

    Not getting all the triggers...

So last night I believe I caught all the movement changing the Zone A to be the entire field of view, and B and C being strips the cars pass in and out of. My overview camera might have even missed one now. I forgot to save the "object cross zones" from A>B, B>A to B>C,C>B.... I have to snoop...

    Not getting all the triggers...

Ok, I went with zone A being everything (minus the grass that waves) and B and C seperated a little bit (4 blocks or so). I'll report back tomorrow when I have some data. Thanks.

    Not getting all the triggers...

Understood. I will give that a try... Could I go zone C all filled in and the make A and B the zones for direction? The MQTT message goes all over the place.

    Not getting all the triggers...

So I noticed that my camera is not triggering on every car that goes by. I changed the trigger to be super sensitive. The car at the end went by while I was doing full video record. No trigger. I tried edge vector and simple triggering. I just switched to B&W triggering. I seem to be...

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E dialed in for night

Ok- I found another setting-- if you make it full time then you can select color and B&W. Thanks.... Daytime now forces color--

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E dialed in for night

I can't even change my "Day and Night" mode to B&W. It is set to auto and I cannot change it. I tried a bunch of settings... I about about 150 to 180 feet I think. I have IR spotlight on the spot... I think I am going to just change my day/night mode to happen like 30 minutes before sunrise...

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E dialed in for night

Do you use Blue Iris? I shut off the PTZ/controls to the camera from Blue Iris to have one less variable there. All the modes on the camera are set to manual focus. I set the camera to continually record. I'll see if and when the focus gets out of whack... Not interested in running multiple...

    IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E dialed in for night

Just dialed in my settings for night time once again. Pretty damn happy with these ones.... Figured I'd share for anyone with a setup close to mine. The IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E. I am noticing my camera occasionally goes out of focus. I have it on manual. I set it to night and day using the http...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

True, but my assumption was he was trying to go building to building here where each had their own power/ground. POE doesn't necessarily apply in this case... My access point is currently uses 24VDC injector. https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/poe-24 With the amount of pine needles that...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

Low voltage only needs to go down 6 inches. I have a conduit out to our generator-- and then I used a trencher to go another 100 feet to an outdoor wifi access point... Through the woods so it isn't like equipment runs over it. I'd love to see the SNR with those things being 10 feet apart...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

On the receive side obviously? Would that then require that the transmitter be isolated? I feel like my day is about to be wasted rereading the IEEE PoE specs.........

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

The last time I looked at this, this is usually done using isolated DC to DC converters which have the transformer embedded right into the substrate.. So they are still magnetically coupled..... just within a single part.... The overall point being the user (and/or installer) doesn't need...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

Much appreciated since I had a few glasses of wine and didn't have my glasses on when I typed it out on my phone. I think the confusion is that all the "grounding" on the sides of the transformers is done at each house side is done in the equipment itself per the spec. If you tried to run a...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

Sorry. You don’t know what you are talking about. Grounding is not an issue at all because Ethernet over cat5/cat6 is magnetically coupled. only in shielded cables does this question ever come up. the ethernet spec is designed so that users can connect without worrying about such...

Is reddit right about copper cables between buildings?

Lightning mitigation is never a bad idea. Neither is using optical. Ethernet wires between building never “touch” so the buildings are isolated. We routinely run Ethernet from hangers to planes and they have a ground and a floating ground. All is good. If you are designing an Ethernet...
