    New Store - Camera Recommendations

Where are the display cases? I would consider more coverage from behind the counter knowing the nature of the store. This is footage from a local store that had an attempted theft. The thought with the door coverage is everyone has to come in through the door. So, even if you don't get a good...

    New Store - Camera Recommendations

Not knowing the type of retail, you might also consider one directly over the check out counter, looking down; possibly a 3.6mm.

    New Store - Camera Recommendations

For the externals, I would go with B54IR-Z4E. No reason to not give yourself the added focal length. How high are the show room ceilings? I would add one in the show room, that is zoomed in on the door. Lower height would be better, to get under hats to see faces. This could possibly be a...

    PTZ recommendation

Ok. I just wanted to make sure you weren't basing quality of captures off of the sub stream.

    PTZ recommendation

That distance is going to be hard for a 12mm to read a plate, but I just want to make sure your streams are set up correctly. What you posted are screen shots from your sub streams.

    I have a problem

They are literally everywhere around central Indiana. Not that I am a ne'er-do-well, but I have been considering a license plate cover of some sort so that I can't be as easily tracked around town.

Long outdoors network cable run – Part 2 ... Fiber Optic run working

I didn't pull near 400', but for my 60-80' run it made a big difference compared to the other, shorter runs I did.

Long outdoors network cable run – Part 2 ... Fiber Optic run working

Unless I glanced over it, and it's too late for you now, instead of using a single 90* conduit bend, use two 45* pieces to make the 90*. It is much easier to pull this way, especially at distance.

Recommendations for 360-degree coverage or wide-angle with PTZ for weather observations.

@wittaj can speak a lot more to resolution vs sensor size.

Recommendations for 360-degree coverage or wide-angle with PTZ for weather observations.

Ok then you should look for 4MP at 1/1.8 or best would be 4K (8MP) at 1/1.2 The smaller the number on the right of the /, the bigger the sensor is.

Recommendations for 360-degree coverage or wide-angle with PTZ for weather observations.

Keep in mind the PTZ linked is not on the correct sensor for 4MP and, while you can get away with a little more in a non-security use, would potentially not give ideal weather/sky images at night.

Recommendations for 360-degree coverage or wide-angle with PTZ for weather observations.

Here are a couple threads to my skycam / weather rig that is on my roof. It uses Empiretech Color4K-T180 cameras. They have held up very well, even through the tornado front we had last night. The only complaint I have is it is not 4k (8MP). It is 2 4MP cameras combined, which they add up to be...

    Camera model selection advice

You will be asking too much of some of these cameras. You need to decide if you want Detection (surveillance) or Identification; they are opposite ends of the spectrum. It is recommended to test positions and fields of view with a varifocal camera before committing to a focal length or position...

Amouranth Breaks Down Full Video of Attempted Crypto Robbery - Colion Noir

For someone with a panic room (if it's actually legit and not just a closet) you would think they would rely on more than just cloud based cameras. Yes, they had on masks, but all the more reason to have a good system and access to the means necessary to protect yourself.

    Get a dashcam. Period!

I had this happen in front of me on the interstate, yesterday. It could have been bad. I am not sure what type of license plate frame they had, but between that and their speed, it is near impossible to get anything from their license plate. Best I could do to get this was to take a snapshot...

You are far more likely to have something installed on your PC that records your screen than you are to have a camera in your mouse recording your screen.

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

Correct, this is currently the only camera on the backside of the fence. I do plan to put another one of these on the other side of the gate to cross this FOV, so it may gain benefits from that IR cannon when I do that. I'll mess with it a bit more, and actually get out there when the weather...

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

It's physical. All 3 lenses are physically connected. When using the built in mechanical adjustment, you are tilting the entire block of cameras/lenses. In addition to this, since only one lens contains the IVS mapping, the three lenses need to maintain the same relation.
