IOS Blue Iris: Do alerts give sound notifications?

Gotcha. When I get home, I'm going to go over my setup more carefully. Thanks!

IOS Blue Iris: Do alerts give sound notifications?

Thank you for your reply Fenderman. I do have this set up in for each individual camera. In fact, the speakers connected to the server PC gives me a verbal announcement whenever a camera detects motion. And on my iPhone, I do get push notifications. However, I don't get an audible...

IOS Blue Iris: Do alerts give sound notifications?

I pursued past blogs, and couldn't find anything regarding this. If I missed it, I apologize. However, I notice people with a Ring camera get a sound notification that their camera has detected motion. However, I have to look at the app to see whether there are any new alerts. I have...

IOS Blue Iris App not getting updated WAN address

Thanks again Fenderman. As far as I am concerned, you are "Ipcamtalk". I checked all the items you listed, and they are in play. Maybe an anomaly. As usual, thank you very much for your quick and informative response.

IOS Blue Iris App not getting updated WAN address

I guess the title of my post says it all. The app would not log onto my cameras. I logged onto my Blue Iris server PC, and found that the WAN address was different than the one the Blue Iris apps on my phone and my ipad. I updated them manually, and everything is fine. Is this a problem, or...

Thank you @Kawboy12R for the reply. I will certainly take your advice into consideration.

    Dahua Camera Audio Noise

Thanks for the thoughtful reply @Fastb. On the face of it, my question is pretty lame. There could be a thousand reasons for the audio fail. Actually, I was just wondering wether other users of this particular camera have had similar issues. As I stated, this camera is in my home...

    Dahua Camera Audio Noise

Lots of good comments, but none of them had anything to do with my original question. Incidentally, the camera that has the audio is inside my house.

    Dahua Camera Audio Noise

I have a Dahua IPC-HDW4300C camera that suddenly developed noisy audio. The noise presents itself as a snapping and cracleling superimposed over the audio. Has anyone experienced such a problem? I have replaced the faulty camera with another of the same model. It is a shame to throw a camera...

Do most people save cam data 24/7 or only when motion sensing works?

I record 24/7 on a Dahua NVR, and record triggered events with Blue Iris on a dedicated computer. In my experience, Blre Iris is superior for off site viewing.

    Trouble with Title Overlays

Thank you nayr. Now that you mention it, I didn't have this problem until I upgraded to Windows 10. I tried the Safari browser, but another problem presents itself. It wont let me enter the user name or password unless I copy each into the clip board and paste them into their respective...

    Trouble with Title Overlays

I have six Dahua IPC-HSW4300C and two IPC-HFW1320 cameras on my system. All work great except for one small problem. For some reason, when I choose the "Overlay" tab within "Video", most of the settings are covered with a live video shot that is populated wih four small black squares in one...

    Blue Iris Version 4.4.1.1

Just wondering if there is a problem with this version, or my computer. When I shut down and restart Blue Iris, I get the usual message that there is an update available. I click "yes". Well, this time, nothing happens.

    Dorbell Camera

Thanks fenderman for the tip. I did look at that thread, but did not find any mention of connectivity to Blue Iris. I am guessing that non of these doorbell cameras can do that. Actually, I don't like the idea of a camera connecting via Wi-Fi.

    Dorbell Camera

I recently purchased a "Ring Wi-Fi Enabled Video Doorbell" but returned it when I found that it would not connect with Blue Iris. Does anyone know of a brand that does?

    New Camera, Same IP Address

Good call Fenderman. That worked. Now that I have everything working fine, I'll treat it like a Ron Popeil gadget. You know, "Set it and forget it". In the mean time, I will probably re-forget everything I had to relearn.

    New Camera, Same IP Address

Just to be certain sure, as they say in the south, I wrote the username and password on a windows notepad. I then copied and pasted, in turn, the username and password into the camera and into Blue Iris. So, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are the same. I can still easily log into...

    New Camera, Same IP Address

I checked the username and password, and they are definitely set the same as the original camera. I use the same username and password on all of my cameras. I can log onto the camera through my web browser with no problem. I deleted the "old" camera 6 as Q2U suggested, and added the "new"...

    New Camera, Same IP Address

I replaced a Dahua camera because the power over Ethernet wasn't working. I removed the defunct Dahua camera from my system. This was known by Blue Iris as "camera 6". I logged onto the new Dahua camera and gave it the same IP address as the one removed. When I log onto Blue Iris, I get a...

Dahua camera freezing on motion detect?

In the process of hardwiring my cameras, my system finally became stable when I had pared down the Homeplug connected cameras to just four. It very well could be that newer Homeplug Av2 devices would have worked better than the ones I had. However, I needed devices that were compatible with my...

Dahua camera freezing on motion detect?

At this point, I would advise you to contact your local pastor and have him perform some incantations to exercise ghosts. Yes. Ghosts- evil spirits that may be living in your Ethernet.

Wanted - Logitech Alert Powerline/POE adapters

@bertsirkin has experimented with some of the various replacement powerline devices, and so I defer to him as more knowledgeable. However, I would just like to caution you that you may have problems on your network by using this technology as apposed to hard wiring your cameras to your...

    Removing Blue Pixels from recordings

I am not a Blue Iris guru, but perhaps you inadvertently selected "Highlight Motion" in the "Motion/Trigger" settings. This would cause the image to be overlaid with a representation of the motion with a blue-green overlay.

Dahua camera freezing on motion detect?

I don't know if this will help you, but when I had cameras losing video, powering them via the 12 volt pigtail seemed to alleviate the problem a bit. However I was eventually able to isolate the problem to Homeplug devices. At one time, I had six cameras connected with these nasty wall warts...
