    I use P2P My cameras are already on a vlan thanks to the Dahua NVR Poe ports/switch I also run WireGuard AND OpenVPN on my firewall box, mostly for redundancy. sometimes the vpn is faster, sometimes P2P is faster. WireGuard is 10x faster and more secure than OpenVPN if you feel you must run...

    If you use AI/IVS like Tripwire or Intrusion zone, and select filters for Human/Vehicle, these appear Typically you'll see them live on the camera, or NVR, not sure how/if Synology handles them if at all

    I've rarely seen a camera FW updated that added features to match an existing higher up model. The 2449 series are cheap and under powered with 1/2 the RAM. The PRO model is almost a real camera with a 1/1.8 sensor The 3 series is similar, a little better, with the only one I would recommend...

    What I said Connect it to the NVR. It will use and assign two channels (if thats all you have) with different IPs. They will connect in order. If you want to change then, change the IP to the next available channel number (10.1.1.x) You'll just have to play with it. Dont go changing too much...
