    Inconsistencies in clip recordings

@looney2ns Thanks for info as it got me looking at thermals. Turns out it was the nonstop writes from direct2disk on the NVMe that were causing it to crawl from overheating. Popped a heatsink on it and it's been good ever since.

    Inconsistencies in clip recordings

It is a mini computer but it's in a cool basement. Never the less I'll throw HWInfo on there and track it for a bit to see if that might be the case.

    Inconsistencies in clip recordings

OS is on Samsung 860 EVO with all blue iris storage on a Seagate BarraCuda Q5 2TB (NVMe). The computer only runs BI v5.9.1.5 and tailscale for remote access. Fresh install of Windows 11 (tried 10 previously a few version ago and similar issues). Direct2disk done, Substreams done (huge CPU...

    Inconsistencies in clip recordings

So I've been an on again off again user of BI for a few years now and recently concluded it must just be me with the inconsistencies I experience. I monitor a common area pool with the system and frequently encounter clips which obviously start well after the first motion is detected and then...

    Corrupted Image

Yeah it was in version 4 as well but I'm not sure the exact version I was on before the upgrade... BVR is unchecked, and I left acceleration on default as I'm not entirely sure this chip has quicksync or whatever the hardware 264 is called. There is actually a Intel graphics update for the...

    Corrupted Image

Hey just a quick question about image corruption on blueiris since I'm sort of at a loss, support is lacking, and this community hasn't failed me yet! I have 3 cameras overlooking a pool deck. After catching some minors breaking in and breaking some glass in the pool I went to review the...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

Ended up borrowing a HFW5231E-Z5 and testing it out from a local contact and was able to get about 30% of the deck covered with faces visible just beyond the deck at night. I'm planning on ordering 4x for full coverage and then 3 turrets for building entry points. That said I've already caught...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

I may start with a simple system with 3x cameras and tripwire defined around the perimeter that just notifies board members and pages the neighbor that would be responsible for reporting it too police. I know the association really wants to I'd them but it might not be nessicary as you've...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

I'm open to the idea I just happened to pick Dahua and rolled with it. Would you be able to give a specific setup that might be applicable? My main concern is accurate face ID at night from about 75ft. I know the Axis camera's I currently utilize at work don't have great low light but that was...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

Haha yea I love skippy but not from down under but I've heard such stories. The idea will be to set the PTZ to basically "sleep" towards the wall outside of the pool operating hours and only swivel forward from dusk to dawn when our problems are arising. That said it was voted on to install...

Good to know, I'll make sure its just a shade and mounted quite far above the camera. Any idea the major differences between the two series besides the zoom level?

Wouldn't the reflected sunlight from the pool and lake cause issues log term to the dome?

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

Correct, I'm looking at the edge of the deck for the fixed cameras and we're going to built a little covered overhang for the PTZ on the side of the building to protect it from being exposed in the sun the entire day.

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

Okay so I have coverage with the following setups but I'm having trouble deciding between a few things: Common Parts: Dell i5 6500 8G Ram 250G SSD & 8TB Purple TP-Link 8-port PoE+ Blue Iris Overview Cams: 4x IPC-HDW5231R-Z vs 4x IPC-HFW5231E-Z5 Do the benefits outweigh the $30 difference per...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

lol, yeah I was thinking just this... I don't think that would be a problem as the others should give fine daylight coverage. I've been using that to try and keep above 100 and I see what you mean with the learning curve haha! Once I read everything it made much more sense and is coming along...

Question on the mic on any of these, they can be disabled correct? We're a dual party state and it constitutes wiretapping if you record audio without an oral or written agreement by both parties :/ Thankfully we're getting internet installed as a "bonus" for pool goers. It's amazing that you...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

Which is the 15x 2k you're talking about. I struggle with the Dahua site lol... I think using 2 or 3 HFW5231E-Z5 or HDW5231R-Z would give me the site coverage I need but I'm not sure it's worth the cost difference for the Z5?

So general consensus seems to be overage with fixed vs ptz for this application. I took a few pictures to give a better idea of the application. Unfortunately I didn't have keys to the club house so the photos are from the perspective of where I want coverage... I think it would be easy...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

Thanks for the insight, the quality on those is excellent and I guess it makes more sense to have the whole picture instead of just what was of interest to the camera when it started tracking. I may have to rethink this again... Any recommendations for turrets that would be good in low light? I...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

I'm going to be using BI on an i7 nuc that I have laying around. At least that's the plan. Possibly using zoneminder if I feel like taking the time to actually configure stuff. As far as remote storage I'm just going to fire off rclone on file change and send it out to the associations Google...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

You're comments have actually concerned me a bit more as the pool in question is Olympic sized and quite large. In addition the backdrop just beyond the fence and in view of the camera is a pond... Is there another model/setup that one might suggest for this scenario? I suppose I would need...

Little Overwhelmed - Swimming Pool PTZ System Advice

So I've been looking at installing a Dahua PTZ system for our neighborhood association pool. I'd settled on the SD49225T-HN but I'm not sure if this is the right choice or not? Basically we have decent lighting but an external IR could easily be added to the system. I'm needing good night...
