Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

Here are some 2.8mm snapshots: 1 - Corridor Mode: Postman approx. 6 feet from the camera (erased my neighbor's home across the street and as well as the postman's face). Note how the left walkway/grass is cut off vs. the standard fov photo. 2 - Standard FOV mode - subject is approx. 8 feet...

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

My porch is roughly a 90° angle (door + adjoining wall) and my camera sits in the corner roughly 2 meters high. I did end up changing my camera to the corridor mode, and believe its a bit of an improvement as it captures (for the most part) floor to ceiling, however the field of view on the...

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

The C-AS doesn't have IR. Also, Pan is a full 355 degrees (vs. 60 degrees).

Do you set the 90 degree setting in Blue Iris or in the camera interface (or both)?

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

I have never heard or thought to use a 'corridor mode' - does anyone use this and does it work well?? I appreciate the suggestion - thanks fastb!

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

I had similar requirements and chose the 2.8mm. My camera is at about 7 feet and is pointing approx. 20 degrees downward. I would say at about 2 ft. away an average adult is captured from the chest up and at 4 ft. from the waist up. Of course, I could place the angle at 45 degrees and...

    DH-IPC -HDBW3202N - DC12V / AC24V

I picked up a used Dahua 3202 and my POE Netgear switch doesn't power it - I also need to include a 12v adapter line for the camera to power on. I know nothing about electricity but does DC12V / AC24V mean a normal POE injector isn't adequate - can anything be done to not run a POE and an...

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

SuperServer - the overall movement is a bit like a turret, but officially: Pan:0˚~60˚; Tilt:0˚~80˚; Rotation:0˚~360˚ Here is the install, freshly painted! The FOV, and picture / clarity is amazing compared to the camera it replaced.

Is there a good small camera for front and rear doors?

Coincidentally I too took the above recommendation and received it this afternoon - I took a few of photos of it next to a 4830. The diameter is close if not equal -- the height is what differentiates it from the turret. Ready to paint the cover so it blends in a bit!

Best Used Camera - Night Vision

nayr - I looked over your review of the 8232 and I think I need to drop my requirement for a mini-bullet. The side-by-side/comparison shots of the 5231 vs. the 8232 are fairly significant - now I just need to get over the size. Thanks!

Best Used Camera - Night Vision

I have a Dahua 5231 and love it but I now want to know what is better (or the next level up in low light performance) in the mini-bullet/dome or turret size - I assume it's Axis, Bosch, Samsung but wanted to know what models you'd recommend for general home security - would there by anything new...

    DS-2CD2T42WD-I5 v DS-2CD2042WD-I

I own the 2042 and it's a good little camera (although it's not my favorite). The other camera would never have been on my short list (to purchase) since it's almost double the size. If you're a business this might be an attractive option.

    Hikvision 2032i Lens Change

Snapshot of 'plate' capture from my converted 2032 with 25mm. The camera is approx. 100-120 feet from this passing car. I'm not sure if there are any forum rules against posting actual license plates (of the unaware) so I thought this was safe. Actual license plate captures looks pretty...

I believe in theory the physical reset button (although i don't believe the 2342 has one) works the same as the Default button under Maintenance. Reset button - all parameters, including user name, password, IP address, port number, etc., will be reset to the factory default settings...

DS-2CD2342WD-I 12mm IR LED in night mode problem.

To me, it doesn't appear the IR is on (i do realize you indicate the 5220 picks it up)...but have you physically gone outside and seen the IR on the 12mm? And to rule it out have you gone 'System Service' to make sure it's enabled (see attached)? I don't recall if my 2342 has a reset...
