    Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE self-rebooting

Looks like hardware failure, to make sure, put it on desk and test with 12V DC power supply and V2.800.0000015.0.R. Do not forget "System" -> "Default" -> "Default" after up/down-grading.

I am looking for recommendations for a WIFI Outdoor Solar 1080p camera

I use a combination of IVS and BI motion detection - works for hedgehogs 5-6 meters away but sensitivity needs to be set high and there are often false alarms. Very fast moving animals are more a problem e.g. stone martens. What AI do you use? MegaDetector look promising but needs a big GPU for...

I am looking for recommendations for a WIFI Outdoor Solar 1080p camera

Look for something like this: KIT/PFM364L-D1/IPC-HFW4230MP-4G-AS-I2/PFB121W and add battery and outdoor wifi equipment of your choice but better run at least 2-wire 12V DC to camera site. This saves you lots of money.

    Dahua 8MP HDBW5842H-Z review / experience ?

See Review-Dahua IPC-HFW7842HP-Z AI, ANPR Ultra 8MP Varifocal Starlight Cam HFW is bullet housing variant and 7842 has more AI features enabled than 5842 but same sensor, lens & SOC. I've a IPC-HFW5842H-ZHE - very good picture quality but 5442 has better price/performance ratio and consumes less...

PoE Ip Camera recommendation for Outdoor use

The problem with domes is the glass. The always needs to be protected from rain and often some of the IR light is getting reflected by the glass. Turrets and bullets don't have this glass dome and so the rain drops doesn't affect them.

PoE Ip Camera recommendation for Outdoor use

Bullets have built-in mics but not the international models, see IPC-HFW4833F-ZAS or IPC-HFW4433F-ZSA. I don't understand that product policy.

PoE Ip Camera recommendation for Outdoor use

Turret models also not getting saturated and have a built-in mic. They're like bullet models but are more compact. @EMPIRETECANDY sends to EU, very fast & good service.

IPC 4k 8MP 25-30fps hard to find - current generations

I've made a short review here: Review (short) - Abus IPCA68500 I've reached their support today by phone but they didn't listen, just told me there will be no changes or feature updates in future firmware releases, they will fix only security issues - take it or leave it. So much potential...

    Review (short) - Abus IPCA68500

I bought this camera just out of sheer curiosity, never had an Abus before, just serveral Dahua, one Hikvision and two D-Link cameras. IPC 4k 8MP 25-30fps hard to find - current generations

Abus - you can forget that! I'm really sorry for all people having bought this for £1k. This camera is a good example for what still can go wrong if a manufacturer combines a brand quality lens, a Sony sensor and an Ambarella SOC. The good: -daytime picture quality -does 4K@25fps -motorized...

IPC 4k 8MP 25-30fps hard to find - current generations

Will do, arrives tomorrow. I'm wondering about it's lens, Tamron 4.3-8.6mm 2x Zoom Lens, f/1.5-2.4 - very uncommon. I'm pretty sure this is no Hik. Firmware file is encrypted.

IPC 4k 8MP 25-30fps hard to find - current generations

    1. You can get some insight while reading the manual of an unknown camera, in case such exists. 2. Check for firmware updates available - Do they contain release notes? 3. All cameras use Linux for OS - Is there a way to get sources, because of GPL? All three points are fulfilled by this...
