    Just an update to say that the newer firmware sorted it - mic input has been solid since then :-) Just have weirdness now on an identical camera near this one, with identical PoE splitter that won't power up when on the splitter so that I can put another inline mic with it like the other one...

    Thanks Stewart. Visiting the site today to finish off and tidy up so will flash the firmwares whilst I’m there. Cameras shipped with 5.6.13. worth a go! Thanks for the advice :-)

    I've just installed 4 x DS-2DE4225IW-DE and all working well... I've added a POE splitter to one of them and small powered mic on the audio input. All works well after a reboot and for a decent chunk of time - but randomly the audio stops working. Only using Hik-Connect to view - no recording...
